04/2/2015 09:09 | The Company announces that, conditional only on Admission becoming effective, it has allotted, by way of a tap issue in response to market demand, 10,250,000 new ordinary shares of no par value (the "New Shares") for cash, at a price of 60.50p per share, a premium to the Company's net asset value. ???????good for existing shareholders???????? | kiwi2007
16/12/2014 09:14 | This is one for the bottom drawer. Keeps paying a nice dividend, which increases every year. Have 10k in my ISA and 10k in my SIPP. | rcturner2
16/12/2014 02:12 | Thanks kiwi I`ve held these for quite some time but hadn`t even looked at them recently, will keep a closer watch. | soi
15/12/2014 21:32 | There was a major attempt to oust Ross and Collins as directors at the AGM..it failed even though they got less than 30% of votes... No idea why but they seem to have upset some major shareholders. Never a good sign in my experience though. | kiwi2007
16/4/2014 16:13 | Well done RCT. Thanks. | asmodeus
16/4/2014 15:44 | I phoned TD just now and first they told me it was suspended and would be liquidated! When I pointed out that this was not correct and it was still being traded and there was nothing on the IT's own website they double checked and apparently this is a balls up and we will all get a correction sometime later today. | rcturner2
16/4/2014 09:11 | Has anybody phoned TD about this? | asmodeus
16/4/2014 08:52 | I got the email from TD and there was a letter in the corporate action section. | rcturner2
16/4/2014 08:12 | I got the email from TD referring me to the corporate actions section of their site. However, there was nothing there. I deleted the email and changed my TD password as a precaution. | sauron
16/4/2014 04:16 | Makes no sense to me. They not only did they issue new equity only a week ago but the NAV is lower than the offer price. | kiwi2007
15/4/2014 19:59 | I have had no notification, and, again, can find no announcement. | asmodeus
15/4/2014 18:17 | repeat post | rik shaw
15/4/2014 18:17 | No - my wife got the same notification and yet I can't find any news item that corresponds. | rik shaw
15/4/2014 17:03 | I have just received a notification from tdw that this is in "voluntary liquidation" - anybody any ideas what this means? | rcturner2
25/4/2013 16:49 | Thanks Losos. It was on that basis that I bought back in. | asmodeus
25/4/2013 15:24 | asmodeus - "that interest rates must rise sometime" Yes but 'sometime' could be many years in the future and I am now totally convinced we will not see even a quarter per cent rise before 2015 and probably not for three or four years after 2015 (Next general election in UK) Inflation will keep on eating away at savings but don't forget that it reduces the deficit and will therefore be ignored 'cos savers are in the minority and often elderly and likely to die before anyone notices they are being shafted. | losos
24/4/2013 09:16 | Thanks, Kiwi. As a result, I bought back in yesterday! | asmodeus
23/4/2013 10:20 | Ex-div tomorrow. | kiwi2007
19/4/2013 15:55 | 'afraid I sold mine during March's fall, in the belief that interest rates must rise sometime, and this must surely damage bonds. However - some say this may not happen for years! So perhaps I'll buy back in before long. | asmodeus
19/4/2013 10:21 | Very quiet thread, so I thought I'd be the one to post this year! :-) Nice to see business ticking along well with an increased NAV and a 0.9pps quarterly dividend declared (2.32% increase on comparable period last year). | wirralowl
26/6/2012 11:21 | I can't see cash in any bank account paying more than inflation any time soon so the New City High Yield has the attractions of relative safety in corporate bonds and convertibles with a yield above inflation, seems like a no brainer to me, the only slight negative is the premium to NAV. When people like Newton reduce their holding it can be for all sorts of reasons and does not necessarily imply problems. | losos
14/6/2012 10:07 | Just noticed Newton Investment Management have a holding here which they seem to be reducing. I track Newton and other active investors holdings on the WAM thread | praipus
21/9/2010 07:30 | If you are an income seeker, you are probably less worried about share price than you are about dividends. So any drop in value should not bother you. However, what a star performer this trust has been. You will have won both ways. I am sticking with it for the long-term, and enoying it. | rugosaplants
01/9/2010 13:30 | Still at a premium vs HDIV at a discount. | davebowler
28/7/2010 10:07 | EX DIV today 28.7.2010-Pay 27.8.10 payment 1.2p. This investment trust is 5 star rated (2010) with MORNINGSTAR. -------------------- Updated fact sheet 30.6.2010:- | washbrook |
