let's hope so datait. along with good news (and publication of results) may come director buys, broker upgrades and renewed takeover interest. On the other hand, bad news would be downgrades, director sells and, well, we've been there before. overall i'm happy to hold for the medium term.

That's true Tim, however you're overlooking the fact that only the UK side of the business is in that kind of trouble; CPP's international operations are still signing up approximately 10,000 new customers every WEEK, and the markets they operate in are only going to expand. Brazil, Turkey and the USA are doing particularly well. Once the mis-selling is all sorted, a quick name change will surely be in order, and then CPP has the potential to achieve once again.

the danger with shorting a refinanced company is that with new monies comes new investment, and with new investment come new contracts

usually as with cpp the stock is bombed out so any news gives a massive share price increase

hence the recent 5p -40p on refinance

16p - ???????? on new contracts

your choice but I wouldn't be short
