08/12/2016 21:47 | Needs buying out and be presented as part of a bigger security solution, rather than just DDOS protection. Part of a protection suite. | staylow1
08/12/2016 21:07 | Needs a lot of contracts wins just to break even, seems to cost alot to run this business and the contract wins are usually for between 100 and 400k. It just doesn't seem to make enough to come close to breakeven. I calculate that the next fund raise will occur by next May at the latest. If I saw more traction in earnings I would be inclined to buy in, plus that chart is saying what the market thinks at present and I'm not fighting that. | owenski
08/12/2016 20:53 | Realised I've not posted Cenkos expectations in light of the contract wins that were announced over 3x RNS's at the end of Sept and into October. Up to 10.10.2016 (last contract win announced via RNS) Corero's H2 wins amounted to $1.5m Cenkos has forecasts for $10.4m revenue this year & EBITDA losses $6.7m. They intimated on 10.10.2016 that following booked H2 contract wins, "Our revised FY16 revenue forecast of $10.4m implies $5.6m of revenue needs to be booked in H2E. Legacy revenues of $1.9m are expected in the second half of the year, meaning $3.7m of SmartWall products need to be sold and booked. The total booked in H2E to date represents around 40% of forecast and the seasonally heavy Q4 period has just commenced." --- As well as my concerns surrounding Smartwall competing with the likes of Amazons newly launched ASW Shield, Arbor, Radware, etc (in the previous post) it is 2 months since the last contract win announcement. Hope I've called this wrong, but they've not been shy shouting about contract wins previously this year, and we've only 3 weeks left to the end of the financial year to fulfill sold and booked revenue per the expectations above. Again, best of luck. I'll take my leave. Kind regards, GHF | glasshalfull
08/12/2016 18:40 | Previously I took a small maiden stake here following the CNS shareprice being slashed despite the rise in volume & complexity of DDoS attacks. Thought it a decent risk/reward play following Corero gaining a recommendation rating from NSS Labs validating SmartWall, momentum of contract wins in late Sept/ early Oct & (at the time) the shareprice was down c.60% from April's 22p placing...and in addition I felt that the prospect of takeover from one of their larger competitors had markedly increased in wake of this. I've however sold out in recent days. Main reason is that the marketplace is moving so fast that I've no way of determining whether their Smartwall product may be superseded with other technological advances. For example, Amazon have just launched a DDoS protection service named AWS Shield. Released last week it is offered to ALL their customers by default. Following the massive attack that took down the servers of the DNS service provider Dyn and a number of high profile websites including Netflix, Twitter, Spotify and Reddit last month, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced a new technology to protect sites against distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. The new tool, which is called AWS Shield, was announced at the company's re:Invent developer event in Las Vegas. Amazon's own site was affected by the attack on Dyn and the company has now decided to launch its own DDoS protection service to ensure that its site and those that use AWS are able to withstand future attacks. AWS Shield will be available in two levels with the first, called AWS Standard, providing users with basic integrated DDoS protection. It will be enabled by default for all AWS customers and those looking for further protection will be able to upgrade to the premium version of the service called AWS Shield Advanced. AWS offers more details regarding the premium version of its DDoS protection service on its site, saying: "For higher levels of protection against attacks targeting your web applications running on Elastic Load Balancing (ELB), Amazon CloudFront, and Amazon Route 53 resources, you can subscribe to AWS Shield Advanced. In addition to the common network and transport layer protections that come with Standard, AWS Shield Advanced provides additional detection and mitigation against large and sophisticated DDoS attacks, near real-time visibility into attacks, and integration with AWS WAF, a web application firewall". During the announcement of AWS Shield, Amazon's chief technology officer Werner Vogels praised the new service, saying: "I think this will really help you protect yourselves even against the largest and most sophisticated attacks that we've seen out there.” --- So, genuine question, why Corero and Smartwall rather than AWS Shield??? Best of luck to holders. Kind regards, GHF | glasshalfull

06/12/2016 23:44 | Here are five key trends to monitor: Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks are increasing in volume and becoming much more sophisticated with the rise of the Internet of Things (IOT) device usage. | cougar99
06/12/2016 15:48 | heading back to new lows .... let us see if a suitable rns will materialize well before the following: February 6-8, 2017 - Washington, D.C. 30/11/2016 16:37 | livewireplus: From the half yearlies: "Secondly, the Company expects an increase in Service Providers and Hosting Providers seeking to utilize Corero's products and technology via an "as-a-service" subscription-based offering. This sales model reduces recognised revenue at the time of the customer order, but increases the contract value and revenues over the life of the deal. Based on the progress in the first half of 2016 and expectation of new business wins in the remainder of 2016, the Board is positive about the future prospects for the Company." | sandbag
30/11/2016 16:31 | Johnb5 - Yes - Lots of new orders required before CNS has a positive PER. That is why I am intrigued as to why Koch is so overweight in this. Are CNS getting lots of 'little' orders which individually don't warrant RNS's? We shall see. Final Results due about April - quite a while away yet. | livewireplus

30/11/2016 14:37 | Well let's see if they get there fair share of new contracts in the coming year: 2017 security predictions: If you thought 2016 was bad, fasten your seat belts -- next year is going to be even worse hxxp://www.cio.com.a | cougar99
30/11/2016 14:19 | lwp that's a good find and presumably has not been put out on an RNS as the contract may not yet be completed. This is an interesting business in the right space for growth. I just can't get my head around the cash burn and it would take a huge amount of contract wins to get to profit. Which is achievable but may take some time. I'm waiting in the wings. | johnb5
30/11/2016 13:37 | Whilst trawling then came across this from last month: htp Gmbh In Hannover Chooses Real-Time Ddos Protection From Corero Network Security hxxp://www.informati Robert Remenyi, responsible for planning the internet backbone for htp GmbH, explained how the Corero TDS has allowed them to identify smaller, sub-saturating DDoS attacks on the company’s network. | livewireplus
28/11/2016 23:04 | That's the $64k question ... If we assume the 1m transaction reported as a late trade is Koch's then someone else bought the 750k transaction reported on 24th? I'm intrigued as to why Koch is so overweight in this share. So who knows if a pile of contracts get signed off soon. ? | livewireplus

28/11/2016 20:39 | Just digging around a little more. Kock did have some interest in CRX until recently: Name of the proxy holder is given as Accrue Nominees Ltd - but further links between Koch and Accrue seem a bit vague | livewireplus
