I think an awful lot of people invested in Corac on the assumption / in the hope that it would be an XXXX [fill in your own number] bagger based on the DGC. Inevitably those people will be disappointed, because the likelihood of the new Corac doing that is tiny, and so they will probably sell.

Ultimately the only thing that will drive the share price is commercial success, which was never going to come from the DGC, but may come from a focussed, specialist engineering company with sufficient cash for the next stage of its development. In an era of basically zero inflation if that leads to say 20% pa share price growth then it will be a very interesting investment.

So I'm with Pavey Ark on this. And I know one European fund manager whom I respect a lot who is looking at it very closely at these prices.

If anyone else would like to echo this clown's thoughts (!!!???) I certainly wouldn't mind discussing them.
I am certainly not getting into any sort of a dialogue with someone as disingenuous as to base/change his opinion on a share depending on whither he has just bought or sold(or intends to buy/sell) and then go through the rather pathetic charade of trying to mislead others with his comments.

'the ridiculously low market cap'

maybe you need to rethink that

It's only low if they can make good money from the remaining CET projects

There's no reason IMO to think the Wellman firms will grow hugely all of a sudden

CRA doesn't look a bad or over-priced company by any means, but I see no compelling reason for anyone to invest here.

Just back from my run along the beach:great for clearing the head.
Before going out I had a long look at CRA where it is, the recent update and previous financial reports.
As I've said before my interest is based on the cash, the ridiculously low market cap and the two very viable engineering acquisitions.
My knowledge of the CET side is sketchy to say the least but I do know that a number of people are certainly not happy about the recent cancelled projects.
ACI is going great guns and with a forward order book of £16m and the guy Kings opening every door in the defence procurement world this is worth c.£20m+ on its own.
HTT has been slow to turn round but the orders are certainly coming in and with:-
"We also saw significant growth in revenue for our heat exchangers with improved quality, on-time delivery performance and conversion to EBITDA." a corner certainly seems to have been turned.
The recent small acquisition is for a fabricator and it looks like it is there to take some of the grunt work from HTT which also suggests things are on the up.
The market for these heat exchangers is in the petrochemical industry (which benefits from low oil prices) and from the energy conservation section which is only getting bigger.
I wouldn't mind a fairly dispassionate update on the CET position but please without "what might have been" or "bloody Cartmell!!"
NB: we are where we are.

Nick2412, your first paragraph is obviously the most important the rest is just our personal view of Cartmell.
I must admit I've no strong personal view regarding the management.
Cartmell like every other director in Britain is overpaid but at £260k I've seen worse and he would lose no time in telling you it was the going rate (or even less!!!).Snouts in the trough? ...yes... but they're all at it.
The most recent options I can find are for 10p (april 2014)so presumably others have been issued at an even higher price Cartmell has certainly bought shares at much higher than the current price.
So he will only make serious money if the share price is much higher.

10p will do me.

As I have said I hold no great opinion on Cartmell one way or another but he did buy engineering businesses for less than £11m and turned them into companies worth well over £20m in anyones money and still has £10m cash.

Pavey Ark, I am actually very bullish on CRA at these levels and the pricing looks like one of those anomalies that crop up from time time.

I would question your comment that Cartmell and co can only make serious money at 10p plus. Firstly, his salary and bonus (for what I don't know) are serious money in most peoples book. Secondly, he ha a history of issuing lower and lower options to himself and cronies, I mean colleagues. To be fair to Cartmell he has bought stock in the market.

Cartmell can obviously talk a good game hence the vast amount of money he has has been able to raise. On that topic I also question your commet that Cartmell is no fool. If I raised £25m plus, failed on many fronts with CET and smashed shareholder value to half that of the money raised I would think 'fool' would be a justified description. But I take your point and he has certainly been no fool in looking after himself. The fund managers should have demanded much more from him ..not least a better work ethic if we are to believe some of banshees posts.

Nick2412,
Obviously you're not happy about the way things have turned out and from the detail of your post you have been here some time.
Some of your points were new to me and I can't really comment on appointments on the compressor side of things but in ACI the appointment of Simon Kings was absolutely amazing and a very strong indication to me that things were on the up and up, certainly where ACI was concerned.
Given this appointment and the orders that ACI have achieved I think there are other areas of the company where Cartmell's performance may be criticised before this.
In HTT the management would appear to have turned it from a low margin "metal basher" to something a bit better but I would like to see the full year before passing final judgement.
We are certainly agreed that the company is being valued in a way that is rather strange.

All along I have said that Cartmell is obviously no fool and is ,like the rest of us, out to make money.
Cartmell and the directors can't make real money with the share price below 10p, the current share price is a touch over 3p, as our american friends would say "you do the math !!"
