There doesn't have to be anything special. How about a substantially better gold price, and the beginning of interest in explorers. The price was higher (if not the cap so much)a few months ago now. The company's work programme is much further advanced now with little negative news, so it shouldn't be a surprise that the share price is moving in the right direction.

Yes sold a third of my holding in hum today with that holding company selling and if continues to sell remaining 12% just cant see huge gains there, i have a reasonable holding here tempted to buy a few more tomorrow something going on behind the scenes, price steadily rising on not much volume , cant see a bid from hum, but you never no.

Seems there are quite a few disappointed HUM investors visiting here, but I just can't see the owners of CORA, succumbing to a low bid offer from HUM. Have a mutually beneficial processing arrangement, yes, but CORA are a different crew, and will learn from HUM mistakes.

I'm in a similar position have far too many HUM. Fingers crossed tomorrow 30p gets taken out. Was a chunky trade at the end of the day.

I've got a few in here average 5p so not complaining. Best scenario is a tolling agreement (i think). I can't really understand why cora was spun out of HUM or at least why the deposit that is 8km away from Yana was.

Well I hope so George I've bought into these at the right been moving up on small volume, something brewing bid form hum, resource update, thinking of selling half of my hum shares too overweight not getting the gains plus a huge seller if he carries on be the same price next year.

Perhaps it is a deal to process cora ore through yanofilla, that is the only other rational reason. The recent drill results were terrible.

I guess Hum are going to make a massively over priced bid. Which if they do will make the lack of them taking part in the recent fundraising truly baffling.

The recent fundraise issuing 60.8m shares at 4.75p to raise £2.9m recently has probably held it back.

Highlights
-- Advancing strategy to discover, delineate and develop economic ore bodies through systematic exploration across permits totalling >1,100 sq km in known gold belts
-- Announced pit constrained Maiden Inferred Mineral Resource at the Sanankoro Gold Project of 5.0 million tonnes (Mt) at 1.6 g/t Au for 265,000 ounces of gold towards the end of 2019
o Reconfirmation of the SRK derived Exploration Target of between 30 Mt and 50 Mt at a grade of between 1.0 and 1.3 g/t Au, for approximately 1-2 million ounces of gold
-- Scoping Study on the Sanankoro Gold Discovery announced post period end:
o At US$1,400 gold price, a 1.5Mtpa Heap Leach Mine delivers 84% internal rate of return ('IRR') and US$30.9 million net present value ('NPV') (8% discount rate)
-- Good potential to increase Mineral Resources given under 25% of the total 40 linear km strike length of the potential mineralised zones identified has been drilled to date
-- Robust results from Q4 2019/Q1 2020 drilling campaign at Sanankoro, mainly testing the continuity of mineralisation at depth, in part below the limit of the existing resource pit shells,
o H ighlights include 2.61g/t Au over 29m from 82m
-- Post period end, commenced drilling at the Madina Foulbé Permit in eastern Senegal with initial results showing good widths of gold mineralisation continuously intersected
-- Strong cash position having raised GBP2.89m post period end in April 2020
Bert Monro, CEO of Cora Gold, said, "2019 was another successful year exploring Sanankoro's economic potential , which has laid the foundations for what we believe to be a pivotal time for Cora. After taking over as CEO in January 2020, I was delighted to begin my role with the results of the Scoping Study. This was a key milestone in the advancement of Sanankoro and demonstrated its potential to be a highly profitable oxide mine, delivering a short capex payback, with an annual average free cash flow of over US$19m and an 84% IRR at a US$1,400 gold price.
"With our experienced management team that has a proven track record in making multi-million ounce gold discoveries, we are in a strong position to move Sanankoro into development. With this in mind, we are planning further metallurgical test work programmes to build on the Scoping Study as well as drilling programmes to both grow and increase confidence in the existing resources. Following our recent fundraise of GBP2.89m, strongly supported by existing shareholders, we are in a good financial position to drive ahead these ambitious plans.
"Naturally, across all our work, we remain cognisant of the evolving COVID-19 situation and will keep the safety of our team at the forefront of our plans while following government advice in the countries we operate in."

Nothing that isn't already in the public domain, just a bit more detailed.

Most of the discussion revolved around justifying the basis of the numbers/potential profit for Sanankoro, and whilst it would grist for the mill for analysts, the average punter might have found it a bit boring.

The CEO wasn't caught out (alright it probably was pre scripted) but the questions were pretty direct if not aggressive, and if there was any excitement about the discovery and future exploration success, it certainly didn't come from Cora. That's a plus point in my books.

This was a reasonably technical but, importantly, non-hyping discussion at the forum today so far as I could tell. At least I know a more now.

It had initially worried me that a few other, what I would consider to be second rate companies, were also in attendance, but that was of minor consideration, since these were balanced by more substantial outfits.

reasonable start to the drill program.

642m of drilling has been completed in 8 holes of f irst reconnaissance 2,000m RC drill programme at the 260 sq km Madina Foulbé Permit
o Priority targets include Tambor and Madina, 2.5km and 2km long gold-in-soil anomalies respectively
o Programme is currently suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions and will be completed when conditions allow
-- Results to date have confirmed the initial model with extensive zones of gold mineralisation across the area tested so far:
o 47m @ 0.63 g/t Au from 27m including;
-- 1m at 16.4 g/t Au from 40m in hole MFC007
o 36m @ 0.53 g/t Au from 6m including;
-- 3m at 3.78 g/t Au from 12m in hole MFC001
o 27m @ 0.47 g/t from 45m in hole MFC002
Bert Monro, CEO of Cora Gold, said, "Having completed around one third of the maiden RC drill programme at Madina Foulbé, which was designed to gain an understanding of the likely style and width of mineralisation within this large granitic system, we are pleased to have continuously intersected good widths of mineralisation albeit at relatively low grades from initial results. Much of the Tambor target remains to be drilled and this first indication of a consistent gold mineralis ed system is encouraging. With the Madina target not yet drilled at all and a new additional target now also identified, the team is looking forward to starting work again to build on these initial results.

short term looks like the down trend may have just been broken, so fingers crossed for a bit of a rise.

Longer term, either a tolling agreement with hummingbird or hummingbird makes a bid. Why they didn't participate in the recent rights issue is baffling.

The closest tenement area to Yanfolila is Tekeledougou just 8km and some great grades. This will be oxide ore so Hummingbird will be very happy to process it.

If Sanakoro, was still owned by Hummingbird it could start being developed immediately .

A few potential catalysts for a price rise. Worth a small punt.
