All these prognostications based on today's news, for a company which is in its infancy, and good news is treated as a glass half empty. No point investing in explorers with this attitude, but the PM market for small companies has always been sentiment driven which at the moment is dire. This won't last forever, particularly if ever increasing stock market valuations are eventually seen to be based on no more than share buybacks aided by lots of free money creation.

Chip, LLPExcellent posts, I too think this is an excellent opportunity but there's going to be a lot of dilution from here. It's all well and good having HUM pull the strings, but HUM won't put up the capex alone and they'll want shares.Easiest way to do that is pack of one of your BOD members to go and be the CEO at the new place. If i can pick up here for an average of 3.5p by 2026 then i'll be well happy.

3 year LoM and 70% recovery. That's pretty poor.

LLB,

Yes, I agree entirely. They have a number of different projects in their pipeline and quite a degree of optionality on top of this very promising scoping study on Sanankoro.

#Chip... sooner or later CORA will be lining up the next project for HUM.., or maybe a JV.. it is a long way out and after or parallel to Yanfolila.. but pipeline progress all the same.. :o)

baddeal,

This is only an initial study based on Inferred resources. They state that they have lots more work to do before they undertake a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS).

The resource needs extensive drilling in order to move it up into Indicated and Measured categories - and they state that their drilling is ongoing.

Once they have results from a PFS (say 12-18 months time), assuming it is positive, they must then undertake a Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) which will flesh out all costings and CAPEX requirements and raise parts of the resource to Reserve status (ie those parts of the resource that are economically mineable). That will probably be achieved by c. 2024'ish.

Then of course, that BFS can be used to raise pre-production CAPEX funding and finally start the development phase of the project (say c. 24 months on).

Put it all together and you can see that this project area will probably take until 2026 before any actual production can occur.

Is there a mining project out there with an IRR greater than 84%? I doubt it!

I am just wondering to what extent if any the share price of Cora is affected by the fortunes/misfortunes of Hummingbird.

#Dudishes... Bert Munroe is moving across from HUM in the new year to join CORA as their CEO, taking over from Jon Forster and there is a great deal of synergy between the 2 companies, with the potential for CORA to provide or JV their future project pipeline..

Let us see what the drilling of Sanankoro returns, and what they do with it, close to Yanfolila too..!

Hum have a decent stake, maybe talent could be transferred/advised? I am a holder of both.
