if you rise to the bait of these half-wits they just carry on posting their sanctimonious drivel. It is as well to put them on ignore. They eventually decide it would be better to get a life.

'The projected financial return to CRC of the Kinsenda copper project is highly
favourable with an estimated IRR of 96% and a NPV of US$147 million at a
discount rate of 10%, based on a "base case" using a US$1.25/lb long-term
copper price.'

Current market cap = $75m. 1 project, Kinsenda (out of 6) NPV = $147m based on copper price less than 40% of current price and all financing in place through debt.

CRC total estimated recoverable resources 7.2Bn lbs copper.

Significant gold mineralisation system found at Hinoba-an.

Need I go on?

Mmmmm not much smoke there, pretty clear!

I'm waiting until the resource update is released on Hinoba-an to re-assess.
Kinsenda more than supports the current sp, the rest of the assets are free.

CRC is a long term investment with 2007 being the year when it us transformed, assuming there aren't anymore delays.

Pinhead3: 'Due to the delay in the bankable schedule of Hinoba-an until next year I have lowered my target for 2006 to £1.30'. You might have to lower it a bit further...

Always the same with these either misguided or hypocritical do-gooders, they rarely examine their own investments before preaching so called ethics to others....
Those professing to be whiter than white in their moral principles conveniently forget their investments in tobacco, bios, defence(!) even retail where the big boys are ruining businesses and livlihoods. Look at a broad range of stocks which look harmless and you'll invariably find conflict with various groups of humanity.

Investment in any country will always in someway benefit the people of that country. Whether is it's through improved infracstucture, taxation raised, employment of local people, etc.
To say that any investment in DRC will be to the detriment of the people of the DRC & will yield no benefit is completely untrue. Branding any company that invests in the DRC as unethical without any evidence is nonsense.
How do you think countries like DRC can utilise the value of the assets of their countries without the funds & expertise of foreign investors?

Yes it is true to say that in any investment in an overseas country the majority of the profits do not stay in that country but that is the same as a UK country setting up a business in Germany. Dividends are remitted back to the UK for payment to the shareholders.

Without investment in countries like the DRC by overseas companies the country will never develop & prosper. The only way to really improve the lives of the people of the DRC is firstly get a stable government & secondly grow the economy through trade & investment.

Instead of criticing CRC for investing in the DRC you should be praising them for their courage in doing so. Yes they will hopefully make a lot of money from doing so but isn't that what we look for as investors in companies?

Regarding Nigeria.
If you have any pension, FTSE tracker or UK fund you will undoubtly have an indirect investment in Nigeria through Shell. I just hope you can sleep at night at the thought your retirement being built on the suffering of the poor people of Nigeria!

pinhead, adams arguement for investing in crc is that it will benefit the local indigenous peoples, I say that will not be the case, especially with the actors involved in this little play........

. In a narrower sense, analogy is an inference or an argument from a particular to another particular, as opposed to deduction, induction, and abduction, where at least one of the premises or the conclusion is general. The word analogy can also refer to the relation between the source and the target themselves, which is often, though not necessarily, a similarity, as in the biological notion of analogy.

pinhead was that a nickname from school?

LOL See Africa has never been on your travel agenda........Why do you think the people of River/Delta/Bayelsa states Nigeria are up in arms with the oil companies who been pumping for oil for years, most live on a dollar a day and the only difference to their lives is the water they used to fish/bathe/live is polluted and the air they breathe has the stench of burning gas......

You can surely do better than that!

There are some good ethical companies out there, but for me this aint one of them!

Still greed is good gordon.......

sheeneqa,

Yep some people just do not care buying shares in companies that exploit the poor......Probably owns gaming stocks tambien....shame on you! Ethics/morals get some.......

You're so right. I bet some people also own shares in palm oil plantation stocks;

Large scale palm oil plantations are replacing the forests in Indonesia and Malaysia at an alarming rate, wiping out 80-100% of wildlife in the area, forcing local communities from their land and destroying their livelihoods. In Indonesia, the forests are disappearing at a rate of more than 2 million hectares a year - an area half the size of Belgium. Nearly a quarter of Indonesia's palm oil output goes to the European Union.

Oh but then of course, so do you sheeneqa, don't you.

Let he without sin......
