Following on from the above:

The following piece is verrrrrrrrrryyyyyyy long, so probably best to read, if one wishes to, when you have nothing else to do.

Also I notice a new production report has been created specifically for Toronto.

I'm glad to see that at least it wasn't Syntek selling all these months past. What will interest me is the director holdings in the Annual Report due on the 10th to see if there have been any changes that haven't been reported.

In the meantime:

Although we got a mention as International distributor in the Bloomberg article of May 25 below and CFL stated in the FY results "In FY11, we will launch psychological thriller 'The Booth' produced by Vuguru, Michael Eisner's leading multi-platform production studio" , I'm not sure if Canada comes under that umbrella (International Distributor). However, the second article (Aug 10) and third article (Aug 25) below show that some sort of distribution has started even if we're not involved.

All IMO only.

For those of you who can and want to watch 'I am Slave'...you'll apparently find it on C4 on Monday at 8.30pm (www.channel4.com) not 9pm as in the article below. It would be nice to get a genuine perspective on this drama from anybody who does watch it :

'Valemont' reaches UK via MTV.

-----------------------------

New US vampire series comes to MTV

August 25, 2010 By Staff

MTV is bringing US vampire series Valemont, which stars Kristen Hager ("Aliens vs. Predator"), as Sophie Gracen a tough-minded girl investigating the death of her bother, to the UK next month.

When the police discover what they believe to be the body of Sophie's rather Eric she decides to go undercover and enrols at Valemont University where he was studying.

As she joins the mysterious world of privilege and power at Valemont, she soon realizes there's more to the story, and the people around all around her, than meets the eye.

Sophie struggles to balance the stress of Valemont University with a love triangle involving both human and vampire students. As Sophie delves deeper into uncovering the truth behind Eric's disappearance from school, more disturbing details emerge about her family and the origins of the elite Valemont students...

MTV from September 19th

I appreciate the kind words but while I am still here:

I notice that the 'New Shows' on Fireworks has been wittled down, perhaps they're expecting some new titles in the near future...Mipcom's only a month or so away, after all.

I also noticed a couple of additional catalogues added to the website:

Fashion Collection
Halloween Collection

pimp...I'm sort of looking for a job at the mo', maybe they could employ me in the PR dept...oh wait, they don't have one ! Oh well, another disappointment to add to my day.

My updates may start to get few and far between anyway. I have to sell my house in France and will therefore have to cancel the internet connection. Trying to move to Germany instead (living with family) and it's not smooth sailing...bloody bureaucracy ! I'll probably end up back in blighty and then the updates will be virtually non-existant...at least from me ! So if I do go quiet, you'll all know why.

An excerpt taken from an article 2 weeks old predominantly about 'Heartland's pick-up in the US but with a mention of 'Steven and Chris' due for broadcast in 30 US markets.

..."STEVEN AND CHRIS, starring Canada's most loved daytime hosts Steven Sabados and Chris Hyndman, is already this country's coast- to-coast resource for ideas and expertise in food and entertaining, fashion and beauty, health, relationships, home dcor and more. In September, it will begin broadcast in 30 U.S. markets, including San Francisco, Sacramento, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis."...

I posted a link back in May for the latest CFL production report, which had a front cover of 'The Dog Squad 3D', so I assumed the current Summer 2010 production report was the same so I didn't open it up but I'm not sure if it is the same or has been updated. So here's the link anyway...you decide !

It's been 3mths since I mentioned Ph.4, so having just taken a look at the site, apart from a lot of kiddie films, which seem mostly set for the Canadian market, the highlight would seem to be the horror titles from Fangoria Frightfest. These 8 titles:

'Dark House'
'Fragile'
'Grimm Love' (US only Apparently)
'Hunger'
'Pig Hunt'
'Road Kill'
'The Tomb'
'The Haunting'

are scheduled for general release Sep 21 (Can) & Sep 28 (US). Blockbuster have a 45 day sales advantage. Links Below.

The other title that caught my eye was 'The Killing Room', from our stable. Release date Sep 28 (Can).

Also the other stand-out titles for me are:

'The Poker House' (Sep 28-Can/US)
'JCVD' (Oct 26-US)
'Flashpoint' - Season 2 (Nov 2-Can)
'Sophie's Choice' - (Nov 2 - Can)
'The Tudors' - Season 4 (Nov 9-Can)
'The Tudors' - Season 3 (Nov 9-Can)
'The Tudors' - Royal Collection (Nov 9-Can $200 - I'm guessing the whole lot in one box).

An indication of how many territories 'The Border' has reached. The link is to White Pine Pictures Summer 2010 brochure (pgs 2 & 3). You'll notice that they also mention Betafilm. I've discovered that Betafilm picked up distribution rights for 'The Border' and 'Heartland' from CFL back in March '08 for continental Europe ex french-speaking Europe. I've thrown that link in too. It also appears that Betafilm are also repping 'Republic of Doyle' presumably in the same territories.
