This is not just about moving into initial production.
Look at the coal prices figures CE was stating with previous guidance
This picture has now changed, and margins have decreased.
Revenues will be lower than anticipated than at the time.
All I am saying is you need to long beyond initial production.
Long term revenues will determine the company's strategy and I expect timelines for these will not be met in the current climate
This is my opinion on looking ahead.

I need to be updated on their strategy now based on current coal prices not when these were abnormally high due to Ukraine war

coal prices are expected to fall 42% in 2023

Commodities Pullback forecast this year

But the nickel markets are hardly alone. After a raging bull market in 2022, global commodity markets have been pulling back in 2023 with the World Bank predicting that global commodity prices will decline this year at the fastest clip since COVID-19 pandemic struck in late 2019.

According to the bank, overall commodity prices will contract 21% in 2023 relative to 2022, with energy prices projected to fall 26%. Brent crude oil is expected to average $84 a barrel this year, down 16% Y/Y, while U.S. and European natural-gas prices are forecast to be cut in half. Meanwhile, coal prices are expected to fall 42% in 2023 while fertilizer prices are also projected to decrease 37%, marking the largest annual drop since 1976. However, fertilizer prices are still close to their recent high seen during the 2008-09 food crisis.

Unfortunately, the World Bank says that falling food prices will bring little relief to the more than 350 million people facing food insecurity across the globe due to the fact that although food prices are expected to fall 8% in the current year, they will still be at the second-highest level since 1975.

LOL@pottymouthed madd.
You're just upset we called PANR right. Sorry if that hurt your profits but they were false and the stock was always going to tank. You need positive drilling results to advance the share price there not industry "experts" lecturing the market on why a dribble of oil and gas is positive.

Of course mate lol. You're been negative for sooo long and now trying to be negative about the company transitioning in a week .... You'll try literally anything. Each to their own, I feel people can see beyond and hence buying with this being a long term dividend play.

I’ve had this stock on my watch list for a long time but never felt ready to commit. That tweet was the signal I was looking for so I’ve bought a few small tranches over the last two days and will add some more when I’m in a position to do so.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention as I am not a member of the Twitterati.

This from July last year. Can't find anything since by way of real news.
Did I see the word DIVIDEND i9n there?!

"London-listed Contango Holdings is seeking strategic partners to develop its gold resource at Garalo-Ntiela in southern Mali as it aims to pay a first dividend in 2023, executive director Carl Esprey tells The Africa Report.

Discussions over Garalo have been moving forward, leading to confidence that a deal can be reached in the next few months, Esprey says.

The “ideal” scenario, he says, would be to find a specialised exploration company to develop the resource. Contango plans to keep a stake in the project once an agreement is reached.

The project occupies 62.5 square kilometres in the Sikasso region of southern Mali, close to the border with Guinea and about 200km southeast of the capital Bamako. Contango said in March that the project has a targeted resource of 1.8m to 2m ounces of gold."

I'd really like an update on the GARALO-NTIELA project in Mali. Can't find anything more recent than November last year. Be good to have some guesstimates on timings. Seems to have gobne very quiet.

Sirmark, I'm hoping you are right. Been exactly a month since the last update so we should surely receive news any day now. SALES, that's the button to be pressed and then it should steadily grow from there. Everything seems to be falling into place but I'm wondering what the negatives are from here? It's never plain sailing. Usually some fly in the ointment.

When Carl talks of 300k tonnes production how many punches of salt do we take?

Are AtoZ taking 10k tonnes in incremental 10k blocks? Carl has spoken about stockpiling. I put a call into Francois Olivier at AtoZ, but no call back yet.

Last 3m of overburden to clear is that correct?

I'm here for the investment case of the project and that project is progressing well and we should see maiden revenues this month and possibly new off take agreements as the quality of the coal is extremely good. I see this as a cracking stock that hopefully the share price should start to move up to reflect the progress that's been made to date.

As for Carls History... I'm taking it as just that to be honest "History" ... I think the share price will rally strongly once he has proved the deliverability of this and we will fly I expect long term view 40p+ not to unrealistic short term double digits ..IMO. (time will tell and of course Coal prices will play a big part but with escalating tensions throughout the world I see commodities as a great play).
