Directors are pleased to announce that their train has pulled into the station and picked up another passenger. The thus far failing non-mining company has asked someone aboard who may have the skills to persuade more people to part with hard earned cash.
Obviously far more useful than someone who can find minerals.

First decent decision made by the management of this company
since it started.
Now the company really does have someone who knows about this business,
and I have a pretty good idea what he will say about their "get everyone else to
take the risks" strategy.
Hope does spring eternal.

The directors of Connemara Mining (AIM: CON) are pleased to announce that Mr. Danesh Varma, has been appointed to the board. Mr. Varma has decades of experience in financing and directing mining ventures in Canada and Europe. He is currently a director of a number of listed mining ventures including Anglesey Mining Plc, Minco Plc, Grängesberg Iron AB and Labrador Iron Mines Holdings Limited. He is chairman of the Brook Group with operations in the UK, India and Caribbean. Mr. Varma who is 64 trained as a chartered accountant

They are drilling? No someone else is cos they can't.
As for filling gaps, they have found a way of filling gaps in directors bank accounts and thats about it.

Zinc at $2237 per tonne slightly down on recent highs.
Going in th opposite direction to oil. The mine closures
forecast will acclerate the interest to see where Xstrata/Glencore
will discover new sources....Palls Green looks to be typical of the
prospective3 supplies that are taking much longer than anticipated
to get into production...and the Galmoy seems to have similar profiles
in Australia and Canada....maybe Africa will be the new frontier.
I hear that recent activity in the North of England has produced hopes of
Irish sized discoveries.

Allied Irish Banks in news yesterday have 350 billion shares issued.
Minco have 500 million issued.
Lansdowne have 150 million.
Is it reasonable to say that 60 million is tiny by comparison to some?

I saw Curry, where you posted the shareholdings list in 2007.
Just as a matter of interest how has it changed since?

There is going to be substantial interest here in this board now that
the placing overhang has been saturated, so at this price 25% below the
placing there has to be interest as we approach the first Oldcastle results.

I guess the only thing one can say in agreement is that it is
all very speculative...and what they say is with the "noose loose"
as they say...so one would be a little happier if one knew that no
one in Dowgate held any shares in Connemara, and that they
have not been paid to write as they have?
