23/1/2017 22:59 | This company does have a habit of finding cost savings and synergies in the media business. And important to note that, while the number of newspapers is declining, the cover price has been lifted successfully. Meanwhile the magazine and newspaper business is becoming ever closer to being only half the business from the operating profit standpoint, all the while maintaining or growing EPS. Hard to bet against the current management - or the growing trend for shipping internet purchases usingdistribution networks like Connects'. Meanwhile, books are recovering popularity somewhat, and we are still in the early, loss-making stages of Pass-My-Parcel, where the loss is expected to narrow as the business picks up. And Education has potential too. Not going to make predictions, but Iknow where I stand as we come up to the trading statement on Friday. | edmundshaw
23/1/2017 15:58 | It is somewhat inevitable that the physical newspaper distribution business is contracting with the relentless march of the digital age. That could be bad for cnct but on the positive side as the company is well managed and productive it could pick up businesses from weaker competitors as they fail to compete. The other aspect to cnct is that it has become a general logistics company with more strings to it's bow. If the update shows continued good cash flow and maintained or increased dividends then I am happy to continue to be a holder. | bartle
23/1/2017 13:01 | Interesting bit of market intelligence on Connect's bread and butter business: hxxp://www.pressgaze | lord gnome

12/1/2017 12:14 | Patterns repeat until they don't. I know that is kind of pleonastic, but basically I like the share and don't want to sell down significantly around the dividend date, and risk watching it go up for once, without me... | edmundshaw
12/1/2017 10:32 | Yea if only haha that was down to experience this one as many a time in past years I held through divi and realised it wasn't the best move so Heyho different approach. It's not 100% gaurenteed but better if your trading.cnct might hit £2 after upcoming results who knows? GL | linton5
12/1/2017 09:00 | LINTON5 Well done, thats a tidy profit, if only we could do that on all our trades. Hang on, maybe you do but somehow I doubt it!! On to the next, good luck. | billy5
12/1/2017 08:53 | 6p dividend, 7p drop in share price, hopefully it will pick up towards the trading update at end of January. | owenga
11/1/2017 08:32 | Ex div tomorrow, so last chance to buy today. I already have plenty, and sometimes the share price takes time to recover from ex div on this one, but I am pretty hopeful for that trading update. Online shopping seems to be taking a bigger hold nowadays... | edmundshaw
11/1/2017 08:13 | Ahhh I see, no probs | jeff h

11/1/2017 07:31 | Have just discovered it's due on Friday now. Found it on their company website. Good news is that the site has encouraging news about the Pass my Parcel part of the group. ... The launch of the new technology coincides with consistent and rapid growth of the Pass My Parcel network. This increase in coverage has meant significant expansion into the North of England and Scotland and includes regional hubs such as Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, and Newcastle. Pass My Parcel now serves 93% of the UK and plans are underway to continue to increase coverage throughout the country. Work is also underway on increasing the current Pass My Parcel client base. | cw2000

29/12/2016 16:33 | LINTON5 I was a tad quick on the sell button but as you say a profit is a profit and probably like yourself I have in the past watched my profit disappear while I chased an extra 1p. If it's a decent return take it and move on. Having said that I have off loaded another 5k shares at 1.51p for another + £388.49. The last 5k will be kept for the £325.00 divi. All together a very successful few weeks. | billy5
29/12/2016 13:48 | Shares looking perky with the parcels side benefitting from strong Christmas sales online this year? | aleman |
