21/8/2006 20:56 | Interesting concept this company at the moment - it keeps churning out bad news on the trading front, but the share price just won't stay down. Something is obviously going on! Wouldn't it be great if other companies could make the share price go up by aborting a reverse takeover and having 2/3 profit warnings in the last year....all very odd! | topvest
18/8/2006 13:07 | Glad I sold most of these earlier on at a very tidy profit when the reverse takeover fell through. The results sound like they will be fairly grim reading don't they? All attention is on the new strategy I guess which may or may not come good. | topvest
01/6/2006 17:41 | now whats going to happen. I see a fall to 45p. OUCH!! Tiger | castleford tiger
13/5/2006 09:02 | Thanks - very interesting! We will have to see what the reverse takeover is won't we, but it is fair to say the Conister is a bit of a unique animal, albeit one that has under-performed for the last decade. | topvest
13/5/2006 01:37 | sorry - I meant reverse-takeover... in case it makes any difference... | jesperinlondon
13/5/2006 01:33 | Hi all, just only stumpled across this thread as I was wondering what the heck is happening with CTU in recent days - been suspended from trading for two days now, talks about reverse-merger - this could be something big. Update: I just found a website with a lot more information about the potential play, sorry if I am stating something which is already known, but if not it might be of interest to you guys too: - run by a guy who apparently has some background in "weird" investments. I think they have somehow forgot to put a password-protection on that site! it's all just a PDF download, although some of the files are full-blown reports - completely accessible...?? strange innit? | jesperinlondon

09/7/2005 12:05 | Isle of Man bank Conister Trust responded to press speculation and confirmed that prior to Fidecs Nominees acquiring its 23.52% stake, announced on July 6th, the company had received approaches from a number of parties regarding a range of corporate options. It said these included interest in making a significant investment in the company, the acquisition of a majority stake and a potential offer for the whole company. The shares added 6p to 40p. | cas tiger
08/7/2005 16:41 | About 200 or so i thought. (from last report). I cannot see anyone paying that much, the takeout level is too high. I will stick with a mid 50`s. If however you are right, a very large case of wine will be winging its way to you. tiger | cas tiger
08/7/2005 16:11 | 80p and I might be tempted I don't think this is held by many PI's so the rise could be quite sharp | strutt12
08/7/2005 14:41 | Strutt, where do you this is going? What price will they force shareholders hand eh? Todays rise has not flushed out any sellers. Last start at 50 to 60p What do you think? Tiger | cas tiger

10/4/2005 19:08 | Seem to be talking to myself here! Accounts and 70 year brochure has come through the post. This company really makes an effort with it shareholders. I've taken up the scrip dividend again. | topvest
26/3/2005 14:41 | Final results quite solid as well, if not a tad downbeat. Management seem very cautious and realistic imo. Happy to hold this one. Anyone else like these? | topvest
14/9/2004 21:35 | Encouraging results today. I remain of the view that this appears a well run business with grwoth potential and a reasonable dividend. Not much interest on this thread though! | topvest
19/8/2004 14:10 | This company is undervalued in my opinion. I've bought some shares in this one. Seems to attract very little interest, but it is unbdoubtedly I nice little company. The facts; it's shares can be bought at book value, the company is profitable with a good dividend yield, it's ignored by the wider investment community (this is the first BB thread for this company and we are on post 7!) and it has a committed and capable management team that are in the process of building the company. It's time to get in, before others notice in my opinion. | topvest
04/5/2004 18:34 | Director buys 18,500 shares on 28 April. There were no trades on that day. Price rise is an over reaction. | tyranosaurus |
