Am alarmed to receive this Email from a campaigning group - SumOfUs. As a shareholder this is not the sort of attention we want.

AJ

"An entire Nicaraguan community is standing up to a major mining company -- to defend their water, homes and livelihoods from a destructive gold mine.

If enough of us stand with them we could cut off a major funding source -- and help stop the mine.
Sign the petition

Hundreds of families could be displaced from their homes and have their livelihoods destroyed -- if mining giant Condor Gold gets its way in Mina la India, Nicaragua.

The British mining corporation wants to go through with a destructive gold mine -- despite fierce opposition from the local community.

The people of Mina la India have seen their ground water supply damaged and neighbours harassed. They know what they’re up against. And they’ve said they need the support of people around the world to win this fight.

Here’s how we can help stop this.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC, aka the private sector arm of the World Bank Group) is the second biggest investor in Condor Gold’s schemes and prides itself with investing responsibly.

So what’s it doing investing in a gold mine that could destroy an entire community?

If we convince the IFC to divest, we can help stop this destructive project from going ahead.

Tell the IFC to divest from Condor Gold’s destructive mining project in Mina la India.

Condor Gold is a bully: it went as far as suing protesters in Mina la India.

But the community fought back -- and Condor Gold finally dropped its charges.

They won a battle. But the intimidation continues.

To win the fight against Condor Gold, the local community need all of us around the world to come together and stand with them to defend their home.

Can you sign onto our petition to get IFC to divest from the destructive mine?

Count me in. I’ll stand with the people of Mina la India.

SumOfUs members have stood up to support communities in their fight against the big mining companies before.

When mining giant Newmont harassed Máxima Acuña de Chaupe for defending her home against a gold mine, more than 160,000 of us stood with her. Thousands more chipped in for her support and legal fund.

Our community cheered on as Maxima won the “Green Nobel” for her heroic work stopping the mine last year.

Now, let’s stand with the people of Mina la India to protect their families and homes too.

Thank you for standing with us!

Wiebke and the team at SumOfUs"

The Nicaraguan Govt on 28th August changed the law to make it much easier to issue mining permits. This is very positive for Condor.
The last RNS confirms that Condor continues to develop its gold resources. The high grade 3 million oz of gold will support a very profitable mining operation.
There is every reason to believe that the proven gold is just the tip of the iceberg.
The gold price is above $1300.
Condor looks to be a very attractive proposition. When the permit comes this will take off and bids will almost certainly follow. It would be very disappointing if this went for less than 250p but one can easily make a case for it to be worth a lot more.

A while ago no one would buy this. A few more positive holes might do it.

The RNS uses the word 'excellent' to describe the latest drilling results. They are indeed excellent and should lead to a substantial increase in the value of the mine.
It must be a frustration to Mark Child that the market is not responding to this good news as it is to me!

AF, I agree it's not a total surprise that the IFC might be interested in funding us, but that's a lot different to MC stating that they are interested in funding us.

I'm not unhappy about that, but feel MC may have been a little bit loose tongued on this occasion :)

T, I'm not sure that it's so surprising that the IFC may be interested in funding us. They have been quite active in their support of our operations and are a not insignificant shareholder investor.

Thanks for sharing AF. Good to know the IFC are still active. Am surprised Mark would email

'The IFC is interested in providing the bank debt for a new mine at Mina La India.'

That seems quite important information that I wasn't aware of. Will copy over to iii in case those there don't read here. Cheers

Thank you for passing that on Sir Andrew.
I think we are getting close to a major step forward for Condor and the recent purchase of 100k at 60p by Jim Mellon is a key indicator. Jim has been involved with Condor from the time before it had even thought of Nicaragua. I have followed Jim Mellon for many years and it was a purchase by him that first caused me to invest in Condor. I have been in the money for a long time but have missed 2 opportunities to sell for £2 per share! I don't intend to miss it the next time but I hope the decision will be made for me by a sale of the Company for more than £2 per share.

I put the following question to MC and have permission to quote him:

Question "Further to last weeks meetings, do you feel we made progress? I know you want us to focus on drilling at the moment but the elephant in the rooms remains the PC and subsequent EIA."

Reply: "Yes, a team of four people from the IFC conducted a site visit of La India Project last week and were given an update by our technical teams. This was the IFC’s 5th site visit to La India. The IFC mining team included an investment director, technical director, environmental specialist and social specialist. Following the site visit the IFC mining team had a one on one meeting with the Minister of Energy and Mines and the Director General of the Department of Mines. The Minister assured them that he and the Government support the building of a new mine at Mina La India. Earlier in the week another team from the IFC met the Minister of Energy and Mines to discuss further investment in the renewable energy sector.

As you know the IFC is the investment arm of the World Bank. Last week the World Bank lent US$18m to Nicaragua hxxp://www.worldbank.org/en/news/loans-credits/2017/06/12/nicaragua---additional-financing-second-land-administration-project in April 2017 the World Bank lent US$55m to Nicaragua hxxp://www.worldbank.org/en/news/loans-credits/2017/04/17/nicaragua---alliance-for-education-quality-project. The World Bank/IFC has significant influence with the Government and has stepped up its lending to Nicaragua as the oil subsidies from Venezuela ended last year.

The IFC is interested in providing the bank debt for a new mine at Mina La India.
