Cut your losers, run your winners. I've never understood selling at a predetermined price, sell when the trend runs out of momentum. CCC has fallen today along with the market on volume of just over £100k, that's in a company capitalised at over £750m, it's still well within a rising trend so I've bought the dip.

Which I'm not...

You never can be, and that's why I perenially sell too soon. But as long as I take some of the available profit I am making money. Not as much as in a perfect world, but that world isn't mine...

As mentioned a few posts ago, it worked very well last year. This year, erm, a work in progress...

:-)

ima - sounds fine as long as you're absolutely certain your valuation criterion is correct.

I don't buy them at a higher price 'cos I've missed out on the gain. Sure they may go higher, but they may go lower - and what then, take a stop-loss hit to cancel out the previous gain? Buy more? And if they keep falling?

I did have a valuation basis for disposing of them, and they reached them so I sold. I then bought them back at a lower price when they dipped for no obvious reason and made a second gain. Nothing has changed, apart from the market's appetite, but that can change just as quickly.

I'm not saying that CCC is expensive, far from it, just that I can see other opportunities that are, relative to valuation criteria, cheaper. As with the other shares. But, as moaned earlier, the market thought different.

From the RNSs the issues in Germany and France remain, and I was happy to sell for near 400p. Let's see how this goes from here - it is a dip, and last time it had a dip from September to November, it went down 80p intraday.

Really pleased I sold up here...

;-(

All I can add is that the one bought with the proceeds has got to go some to do better than nearly 20% in a month...

And next week, we'll find out.

Just stop talking about 3.79 and 3.80, when my broker-ette flagged these at 3.00. I then had a second chance at 3.35, and even then more distractions slithered into my life. So stu you can think yourself jolly clever and I'm the double dummy for missing out TWICE!!
