Oil Extends Gain as Industry Said to Report Surprise Crude Draw

Futures in New York climbed from the settlement Tuesday after the American Petroleum Institute was said to have reported U.S. crude inventories tumbled 2.74 million barrels last week. That would be the largest decline since early January if confirmed by a federal tally scheduled for release on Wednesday. A Bloomberg survey ahead of the government report showed stockpiles probably rose by 3.25 million barrels...

Carp - all this combative posting has had an effect on my personal life - I used to have the legendary charisma of Herman Van Rompuy but I've now got a nose for b/s and I have to fight hard to avoid loosing off both barrels whenever I get the slightest whiff- I'm a bit like marmite now in my locality!

Looking at the trades, it would appear that the 500k buy may have been from earlier in the day and was the reason that we went up slightly on the bid today. Prior to showing that trade, sells exceeded buys by about 370k.
