16/12/2009 17:55 | Correct, zero to be gained by selling right now. Other than the undertakings from the two directors (15%), Whitbread has a private investor who has pledged his 2.2 % and Artemis who are in for less than 1 percent. Pretty arrogant of Whitbread to issue statements suggesting it's all tied up. If they get 50% then it's in the bag, but that's a very long way off. | coffee911
16/12/2009 17:31 | Only just caught up with yesterday's update (as I'm working night shift) and apparently only 19% of shares are secured by whitbread; is it not conceivable for other shareholders to rebuff the offer as too low? | cordwainer
16/12/2009 10:26 | Thats true small shareholders screwed yet again | carwhite
16/12/2009 08:51 | RW has failed to capitalise on the opportunity. Costs outpaced the growth. His denial of take over speculation when this was at 43p just showed that he was more interested in running the company for his perks rather than the shareholders. Looking forward to see the offer document to try to see what induced him to sell out at this level. | gk1066
15/12/2009 17:32 | Why have so many large buys going through when the price at 24p has been fixed or am I missing something. | 4screws
15/12/2009 14:18 | face it we have been shafted. | carwhite
15/12/2009 14:17 | Why would we be offered Whitbread shares if the offer is all cash? | gk1066
15/12/2009 14:02 | Maybe COH holders will be offered Whitbread shares. Whitbread last time I looked also own Premier (Travel) Inns - and I can tell you they beat the likes of Travel Lodge (or is it Travelodge?) any day. Those whitbread shares would be offered at a ratio according to the same date/price fix they based their COH offer on, so maybe an inherent 25% discount, just as their COH offer was at a 25% premium. Also I think whitbread shares will not be handicapped by the deal their getting. | cordwainer
15/12/2009 10:59 | lololol always knew it was a con..Only the directors scored here...ukfc the small shareholder. So much for those ramping 50p a share. | carwhite
14/12/2009 18:29 | Well I got mine free, I never replied to the BKE offer, but they sent me the shares anyway. I rather feel Whitbread are getting a lot for free here.....no need to do any work just move into these locations. 24p is NOT enough | mryesyes
14/12/2009 10:22 | Doent look to clever for those poor shareholders buying in at the highs and the company's public statement of never selling out!. | carwhite
12/12/2009 22:22 | He also "topped up" at around 45P if I recall correctly. | carwhite
12/12/2009 10:29 | Bill Currie bought the majority of his holding in the 2005 placing at 11p. He got 10m of his 15m or so at that time. | kimboy2
12/12/2009 10:00 | anyone remember what bill curie bought at ? | rwcarlos
11/12/2009 21:17 | Its not a sell out, its a fire sale give away at these prices. | carwhite
11/12/2009 19:32 | Carwhite, I do try to help generally!! Hope the guys kept their shares! And trust me, there was a bid when I was buying originally! | cool runnings
11/12/2009 13:25 | other companies will be looking at this deal,it's a bargin price and i would expect another bid to come in above 24p. | stuie
11/12/2009 10:39 | It will get the ball rolling!! This is far from over | cool runnings
11/12/2009 10:25 | OFFER OF 24P A SHARE FROM WHITBREAD,THEY ARE BUYING THIS A MASSIVE DISCOUNT TO ITS REAL VALUE.NOT A HAPPY BUNNY | 22298
11/12/2009 07:38 | As mentioned above!! | cool runnings
10/12/2009 12:25 | Ticking up nicely today on higher volume. Cant find any new news - does anybody know why? | troc1958
30/11/2009 11:07 | So have I become now!! | cool runnings
30/11/2009 09:53 | I am long term. It was your previous baseless rampings over a non existent bid that is an was a source of concern...as there was no information to support your insistent rantings. | carwhite |
