I don't think so. It was a positive article and that might encourage some new buyers. However, the advice to those who followed the original tip was to take some off the table and bank some profits.

Analysts at Berenberg hiked their target price on video games developer Codemasters from 400.0p to 480.0p on Friday, stating the group presented a "substantial" discount to peers.Berenberg opted to increase its estimates on Codemasters following the group's recent trading update, upping its 2021-22 revenue forecasts by 19.4% and underlying earnings estimates by 21.5%.The German bank said the firm had delivered "a stellar performance" as it benefited from the Covid-19 "stay-at-home effect" and "the enduring quality" of its F1 franchise - the strong execution of which was now resulting in accelerated growth.Despite Codemaster's "significant outperformance" during the first half, Berenberg added that it believes there is still further upside to come for the firm."Even after our +20% upgrade, we believe that investors can still access the secular growth of the video games industry via Codemasters on a 25% discount to peers," said the analysts, which also reiterated their 'buy' rating on the group."This makes Codemasters one of our top picks in our UK mid-cap technology, media, and telecoms coverage."

Hi Pete I don't wear rose tinted glasses thats all. Bad games matter because code masters capitalise a lot of costs - if it bombs it gets written off and doesn't look good for the recent acquisition (but perhaps we can wait until next release to judge that!). Thats what I care about in this instance. (its what drove the price low 18 months ago from memory when on rush didn't perform). I also said most of the value here is in F1 and china mobile gaming contracts which I think is true.

This time round its different as market loves gaming stocks and by the looks of it not much was expected from this release which is good news. I didn't meant to sound too negative (blame the heat!).

I've owned some shares here, team 17 and fdev for quite a while.

nimbo1: the key word in your earlier post was 'guess'. Puzzling that as a shareholder you focused on the prospects for one game rather than the positive trading statement for the company. Am also a shareholder and apologies if I've misread your posts.

Cheshire Pete - I said the game wouldn't sell well (do you have confirmation it is?) You can see from the below it is selling appallingly on PC and reviews are awful. Perhaps management had no expectations for it - hence it is selling in line with expectations...or perhaps the playstation / x box purchasers are less fussy!? the release is a disappointment for an AAA priced title judging by players reactions.
