How long does it take to get plastic surgery, a new name and passport, bribe someone to smuggle you out the country in a boat and set yourself up in Thailand as an Arab oil prince? It takes time, Sparky, it takes time! But don't worry, once the false beard has been replaced with a convincing enough real one we'll find the letter on the mantlepiece saying, "Sorry darling, I lost all the family money on the 3.30 at Redcar, and I've had to pawn the silver, and there's a big guy called Vinny who will be calling round with two guys in camel coats, with baseball bats, who will claim I owe them a LOT of money for some drugs....it's not true, honest. Tell the kids I love them, but you'll never see me again, it's for the best. I love you darling, but you knew I was trouble when you married me.

Another chance to post a message so that those who log on to ADVFN and look at their favourites see 1 new post and get their hopes up that it's an intelligent, perceptive, brilliantly deduced answer to the conundrum. But it isn't, it's just Soggy wasting your time....

This can go either way and no one know which

from the last results the business was thriving - so why could it have gone bad

the other flip is a huge increase in business

honestly i have no idea at all - if bad it would not have taken this long ie Blah Blah has cut its funding line to CCH

but it you are sorting out a 5 year Billion dollar deal yep it would take some time to conclude

Thanks Philby - I also have holdings with iii but not CCH fortunately. Thought we might have at least heard something additional from Lemmings by now but seems they have gone as quiet as CCH PR Dept.

To the HL user whose holding shows n/a - fear not as my holding is shown as three stars on interactive investor and is excluded from my portfolio value, so it's not just HL.

Pitiful investor relations - I've mailed them 3 times - no response at all, not even a pointless and empty courtesy fudging of the situation.

Hope this works out for people with significant holdings.....

wonder if there is a time limit on how long a stock can be suspended without market updates

also we are apporaching the dates for updates results etc

Another day by the looks of it and no news yet again.

an RNS saying talks are continuing would be nice and put some more fat on the bones rather that certain funding lines

Everyone's agreed, two weeks is a long time. But it's an unusual company, and it's an unusual share. So, maybe it's not so odd that they take unusually long.

Just don't anybody jump off any buildings yet....

If ever we could have a reminder of two basic lessons in investing, this is it. Lesson 1, never invest money you can't afford to lose. If it's bad news, and you've lost it all, well, that's the risk we should know we're taking when we press that buy button. (ESPECIALLY ON AIM!)

Lesson 2, it's a dangerous thing to short a share. Suppose it's good news, and it comes back re-rated at 10xthe suspension price. Anyone who had a short on it would be bankrupt in an instant.

Sorry, just musing to passs the time....while we all await our fate.

I've no idea if news will be good or bad, but rampmeister - you should not read anything into how HL are now displaying your holding - it has NO significance.

i would like to see new funding line come from middle east, from oil money, not from the likes of australia/canada as it seems many institutions don't know their exposure to US problem by way of investing in a derivative of derivative of... ...derivative of subprime loans and thinking its very low risk.

RXP suspended same time, made announcement within a week.

HL have deleted value against my CCH holding im my portfolio and now just shows up as 'n/a' - maybe they've heard something.
A little ominous perhaps and gut feeling is no happy ever after with this story - only upside for me is that this is my smallest holding, I had difficulty building any kind of stake due to lack of liquidity.

The bottom line is, if it's bad news there's nowt we can do about it. If/when the shares come back to the market they'll be marked down to next to nothing, and we will have no chance of doing anything other than weep. Then we decide to hold and hope for a bounce or a slow recovery, or, we cash in and move the capital elsewhere.

Then again, if it's good news, there's nowt we can do about it. When the shares come back to the market they'll be marked up and we will have nothing to do but rub our hands with glee.

So, good or bad, there's now we can do till they tell us.

But it is a bummer having to wait, isn't it?

There's nothing to precis - the company asked for their shares to be suspended and since then we've heard nothing.

Lemmings are hopeful that it's good news, that they are about to announce a significant new deal(s) which will cause a re-rating - hence the need for suspension. But nobody can find out any facts. It could just as easily be that there is a problem with one of their deals. So, we just have to wait and see...

Maybe the best place to be is in deepest SW France with no internet, saves anxiously checking every day and getting disappointed with no news!
