Anybody care to do a value comparison between CWV and EDG?

Cyber, CNF, how do you keep up to with the latest news - whatever that might be - as it is as it isn't on their website yet? Just found it on marketwire. I'd like an automated alert a la the LSE RNS alerts.

Cyber,

Its quite good, but not exciting as yet. Production up to 2070bopd with more to come as they power up and get the pump rates up on El Valle as well as get the AEY assets into full scale development. The action will start when the high impact wells start both conventional and in the VM. Still excellent value based on its cash, reserves and micro cap EV. Once they start sinking a few into the VM shale in early '13 the excitement will build. Hopefully sometime after 6th of April! :)

Hmmm...interesting variations.
Just back from 3 weeks in Brazil and now looking again at this problem.
Seems to be very little guidance on Internet - but I wondered if our AEY reduction of capital in the form of CWV stock counted as a capital distribution and needed to be considered under something like this (which I think refers more to Company Corporation Tax rather than personal CGT) :-

The CWV distribution to me has a capital nature and this nature I think will carry through to individuals.
If it does how precisely would we establish the shareholders base cost of CWV and revised base cost of AEY?
Far too complicated for me - I suspect we need a few wise words from someone experienced in these high flying matters.
Happily family have no plans to sell just yet!

I thought as its a stock dividend its proceeds are debited from the cost price of AEY reduces the cost price of AEY

Do you not simply count the CWV shares as being acquired at zero cost, ie. when you sell them you have to pay CGT on the whole sale proceeds?

CNF - yes, mine are all ISA but some held by family are not and the apportionment will be material for them - and me - as I will have to do the calculations on any of their sales!

Doug,

Did you not have your AEY in your ISA?

We haven't had any more multi-zonal oil wells since the 17th of July. Too busy at conferences it seems. I reckon we're over-due one or two.

Does anyone have info on cgt apportionment percentages which have to be applied to ascertain acquisition costs from Antrim Energy, please?
Thanks!

The potential on CWV's properties is pretty enormous it has to be said. Interesting little spike today. I have the feeling that stock might be getting tight over there... NAI

Evaluate the Vaca Muerta Oil Shale across 160 net prospective sections; first drilling in 2013 to evaluate Crown Point's Vaca Muerta shale oil potential of 180 square miles of prospective acreage – 250 mmbbls of oil recoverable resource* YPF recently published a Vaca Muerta recoverable estimate of 5.6 million bbls of oil per square mile CWV has used 25% of that estimate to calculate the Vaca Muerta resource potential at Cerro Los Leones

Big volume again today - no obvious reason? All I can think is that there are still people coming into free shares via AEY and dumping them? There seems to be nothing but good news from the company.

I should mention that TD Waterhouse have STILL not made my CWV shares available for trading, although they do appear in my account!

Yes they seem to have an amazing success rate CNF.

I see that the share price is still falling, I think we probably still have lagging sellers of their free shares from AEY....

Crown Point Ventures Ltd. Announces the Completion of Fifth Well As a Multizone Oil Well at El Valle, San Jorge Basin, Argentina and Provides an Update of Current Drilling Operations

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - July 17, 2012) - Crown Point Ventures Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:CWV) ("Crown Point" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that the well to be drilled (EV 28) has been completed as a multizone oil well.

El Valle - Golfo San Jorge Basin

Completion Update

EV 28

Crown Point has successfully completed a total of 22 meters of pay in 6 different zones in the Mina el Carmen, Caleta Olivia and Cañadon Seco formations. Each of the zones was swab tested for a minimum duration of 12 hours, all zones tested oil upon perforation at individual average rates ranging from 30 bbls to 143 bbls of oil per day. A small scale fracture stimulation program, designed to get past near well bore formation damage and increase rates of inflow, will be carried out before the well is placed on production. Crown Point is currently swab testing the combined zones at a rate of 169 bbls/day of fluid with a 95% oil cut. Neither a pressure transient analysis nor a well test interpretation has been carried out on the well and therefore this data should be considered to be preliminary until such analysis or interpretation has been done. These test results are not necessarily indicative of long-term performance or of ultimate recovery. This well has confirmed an additional 4-6 potential drilling locations.

EV 32

Completion operation results on EV 32 indicate that the well bore was heavily damaged by drilling fluid invasion. Completion operations have been suspended pending availability of alternative completion equipment.

Drilling Report

EV 38

The EV 38 exploration well, located approximately 2 km north of the Company's recent oil drilling activities, has been drilled to total depth and cased as a potential new oil pool discovery. The well encountered live hydrocarbon indications from several horizons while drilling. Subsequent wireline logging, coupled with pressure sampling over selected intervals, confirm that the well has intersected oil bearing sandstones which exhibit excellent reservoir characteristics and pressures at or near hydrostatic. Completion and testing operations are scheduled to begin immediately following completion of test operations at EV-28.

About Crown Point

Crown Point Ventures Ltd. is an international oil and gas exploration and development Company headquartered in Calgary, Canada, incorporated in Canada, trading on the TSX Venture Exchange and operating in South America. Crown Point's exploration and development activities are focused in the Golfo San Jorge and Neuquén basins in Argentina. Crown Point has a strategy that focuses on establishing a portfolio of producing properties, plus production enhancement and exploration opportunities to provide a basis for future growth.

They're starting to find even more payable per well on El Valle it seems. this new well has then opened up a further 4-6 drilling locations. It'll be interesting to see what the production level is at this field at y/e when all these wells have been frac'd completed with ESP and are on production. Its pretty relentless at present.
