pi0110: Anyone else perplexed why CMCL raised tge funds for their solar power plant in September of this year given that it is due to start in Q4 2021? We should be throwing off cash like a drunken sailor on shore leave once the main shaft is commissioned in Q1 2021.
stemis: CMCL always seem to be well placed in Zim. They navigated the Indigenous Act, the foreign currency shortage and the CV19 lockdown. I think they are ideally placed to benefit from the post Mugabe opening of the country, which desperately needs foreign investment. They've clearly got good connections, allowing them to cherry pick the best prospects. This sounds like a very positive development.
mikkydhu: Today's RNS reads like a genuinely sharing relationship between the Govt of Zimbabwe and Caledonia Mining, and as long as noone is greedy everyone should benefit. Is it too much to hope that lessons (on both sides) have been learnt in Zimbabwe over the last few decades? Maybe CMCL will get to pick the best of the government's offerings. Encouraging action in America yesterday.
ntv: mikkydhu Just hoping the Americans have got this wrong as the price is down well over 40% from the top and still falling though volume seems to have dropped off a bit Certainly Q1 next year is going to be interesting We have just got to be patient
stemis: I doubt the share price fall has anything to do with the possibility of investing in a new project. The fall has wiped £55/60m off market cap. I don't think anyone has ever suggested they'd be spending that sort of money ...
dozey3: Sharescope gives CMCL a current cap of £182m. Forecast Norm EPS is 264p at end of this year with net cash. Divi is predicted up 24% at 35p. Now please excuse my ignorance as a newbie gold bug, but whilst I appreciate political risk and ongoing investment in the central shaft and the lom why do they not increase the divi considerably (perhaps x2 or x3) which would surely be possible and attract income seekers? (My residual holding is a free run since cashing half the holding last month, so I'm in no hurry to sell.)
stemis: I guess it's inevitable that there's going to be the occasional retrace; the rise from 500p to 1800p has been quite sudden and some will want to lighten overweight positions and protect profit. But with gold now over $2000 and a significant expansion of production imminent this surely has a way to go. At current gold price and 80,000 oz output, a share price of 3000p would only valued CMCL at 5.3 x ebitda
ntv: Last nights closing price in the states was $19.18 based on the $/£ rate of approx of $1.26/£ that equates to a share price of £15.20 Why such a discrepancy ??!!
cpap man: Steve Curtis, Chief Executive Officer of Caledonia Mining Crp (CMCL.L) increased quarterly dividend Tim Blythe speaks to Steve Curtis, Chief Executive of Caledonia Mining, who operate the Blanket Gold Mine in Zimbabwe. This morning, Caledonia have announced another increase in their dividend, and Steve discusses this mark of confidence and their current work. (NYSE AMERICAN: CMCL; AIM: CMCL)
stemis: Indeed which is why it'll never really attract a high rating. But at 75,000 oz and a gold price of, say, $1,500/oz, I reckon it'll churn out, at least, $40m maybe $45m cash a year. Even on 6 x that, that's a share price upto double the current one. They could easily pay out 150p a share dividend (cost $20m a year).
