Hi Anley, I've got May 15th as the date I expect significant news by. That's 6 weeks today! But will it be a part/self-financed drill, farm-out partnership including financing, new licenses, or another surprise (good or bad). Only time will tell, but certainly not too long to wait now. I hope we all have good cause for celebration.

Michael Spencer reportedly pocketing £650 million. If I had that I'd pay for a drill! Mind you if I had £650 million I'd have more than that, if I did a bit of window cleaning on the side.

Not able to open the FT as I only subscribe for the SAT edition. But thank you for consideration,

On another topic Shale Gas. Ambrose Evans-Pritchard in today's Daily Telegraph mentions that the British Geological Survey estimates that the Bowland basin holds 1.300(one thousand three hundred) tcf of gas and that if 1/10th can be extracted it would cover our energy requirements for 50 years.

CLNR claim 1.74tcf some what smaller but if I am right quicker to get out before the Bowland fields get going in a few years time and besides Mr Cluff can tell us that there is still lots of gas in the Southern North Sea.

Well what is this worth and how are the talks progressing as we move towards the end game.

Also well done Michael Spencer selling NEX for a wonderful gain to the Yanks......every little helps and that gives us Brexit people a new leverage over the French who want to spoil our financial services......come on you Frogs you have terrible banks and no capital clout to compet with us!

Rant over for the day..........

Investors buying around 1.90 today don't seem to be too worried by a placing.

I would expect bidders would be updated on whether they have been successful before it is announced to the general public.

Licence round results in May (roughly when the cash runs out). Makes sense to raise now in case they don't get awarded anything.

Yes Maytrees. It’s starting to look very cheap. Not far off the 1.75 I am looking to buy back in....and now I’m thinking it may drift further . I expect some are starting to think about another placing around 1.5?

I see I3E have had an update this morning and added some notes about 30th licencing round as if this is what they are waiting for. Is this along the same lines as you are saying anley?

Thanks Anley, all the main contenders including Spencer and Dorfman appear to be in there, I think that they must be reasonably happy, to still be around.

Clickon..........thanks for your post however it does seem as though a good number of shareholders are now really stale bulls but can't sell for fear of a deal being announced after thy sell.

There aren't many of us left on this BB but being a penny stock one can expect a flurry of new investors once news comes forth...........and we shall soon find out.

Nothing wrong with making predictions, we know they're not cast in stone, just possibilities.

Hi Guys..........this is what I said last time.................

"I have had another long and hard look at the time table of events:

1 No news until April but in the meantime there will be "office" activity

2 Remember Q2 (MAY) is the critical time for CLNR to fulfil their obligations to the OGA

3 My guess is that if you look at the Southern North Sea (GAS) map the Farm-In will be with one of the current holders who want's new gas reserves"

Its boring and the MM fiddle around but that's life on AIM!!!!

kristini I think anley's timetable is dependant on the licencing round being announced, however that works out I am not sure. All I know is this continues to be a massive disappointment.

From CLNR's Twitter account:We would like to congratulate #CLNR Chairman @Algy_Cluff on the publication of his second book 'Unsung Heroes' and the launch of The Remembrance Trust, a charity dedicated to the preservation of the graves of UK and Commonwealth armed forces personnel killed prior to 1914.
