16/3/2018 02:51 | Putin now threatening to disrupt gas supplies to Europe. If we're going to stand up to the bear we need to get a grip. Energy security is essential. About time MI5 and MI6 got their heads around it and briefed the energy secretary properly. The reason we don't have tax breaks for explorers like the Norwegians is because there isn't enough money in it for the Government. That's going to be the least of their problems. | clickon

09/3/2018 16:37 | I know, they're unbelievably complacent. We nearly run out of gas a week ago. Rather pay a fortune for Hinkley nuclear overpriced energy with dirty nuclear. | clickon
09/3/2018 14:45 | clickon they weren't bothered about keeping any coal jobs and coal security and it seems gas is no different. How very short sighted. | soulsauce
09/3/2018 14:20 | Exploration on LSE is explaining how the Norwegians had the common sense to offer tax rebate incentives to explorers, Algy has been pushing for that for years. Unfortunately and I'm going to keep it polite here! the OGA , George Osborne and Spreadsheet Phil would rather have a whole lot of nothing, rather than a reasonable amount of something. They just can't seem to see the benefit to UK customers, jobs, increased tax take, both income and corporation, balance of payments and energy security. How intelligent do you have to be. It's so simple, If this is the level of competence from Government, we're in trouble.Fortunately the Norwegians turned their industry around because they have common sense. Rant over! | clickon
08/3/2018 12:38 | Hi Anley That analysis is about the size of it. Algy felt that if Ravenspurn came off it would be an encouraging event in the area, it had been eagerly awaited. I asked him if it didn't come to fruition, how would that be. He wasn't depending on it. | clickon
