The General though is that news will not be until late August/September so people are selling out and waiting for a better price. I'm still holding on an average of 2.85, I'll top up at 2.2 then hold out till the end.

GLA, still confident this will multi bag before we know it.

Especially if Cluff can add to their current portfolio, which he wants to do but at the AGM it was mentioned that the government had gone slow due to the General Election. Now we are in summer recess so nothing will happen until October.

Meanwhile we wait and let the price drip to 2p which is my new buying price.

Wordog, I can't agree with that, here's my post from 28th May 2017.............'Most likely the largest new gas field in the North Sea is Ormen Lange with 14TCF of gas.......operator : Shell 17.8%, Statoil 25.4% Petoro 36.5% Dong 14% Exon Mobil 6.3%. This appears to make our prospective look appealing, looking at percentage values and in totality.Plus the Ormen Lange field is much much deeper than ours At 850 to 1100 metres! While it also has condensate, the view of Ineos is that the gas is the way forward.'Big players, some with smaller percentages!

It's too much of a small play to bother mentioning for BP.

Also Anley I find it strange that nobody on the Premier plc blog or BP blog discuss the BP carboniferous drill, not a squeak. The Southern North Sea is quite a strategic play for BP.

I agree things do go quiet over summer. £5-£6m is not much for a drill for those with deep pockets. Absolutely nothing for the likes of BP. As far as I can make out the Rough undersea storage facility has a lot less gas to recover than we have potentially but that is seen as worth doing as part of the decommissioning process.

Thank you Anley very interesting. With BP 6 out of 7 projects at the moment are for gas, just the one oil. The big boys in the industry see gas as the cleanest product. So I think that gas is the place to be. I have been surprised that BP as large as it is seems in most cases I've looked at to operate with one or two partners, as in the case of the carboniferous drill.

My other thoughts as I look more and more in to the North Sea gas issues are:

Although CLNR has gas in the ground it is worthless until capital is spent in pulling it out of the ground. That is the view of an oil/gas venture capitalist.

So until CLNR comes up with a financial solution the share price will remain weak.

If CLNR's Plan A is a farm in/out what is Plan B ..... to go it alone and raise funding where all of us, including the directors are diluted? That may be a route which many small shareholders would not like as a share issue or whatever would be at a huge discount........1p perhaps!!

Take a look at what has happened with Hurrican Energy (HUR) and its latest financing arrangements which I hinted at in a recent post. That is the sort of price movement from 20p to 50p down to 30p in the past several years with funding from time to time and the big deal of $500m as the last throw of the dice - so to speak.

I know HUR is all about oil but the principal of financing will be similar for CLNR and I am sure the CLNR board are collectively on top of this and are still trying to de-risk their gas find so they can obtain better terms and conditions.

In the meantime look at the Centrica deal today where CNA announced a new JV and where calculations were made on natural gas being priced at 35p/therm UK NBP gas. Cygnus a big field is one of the fields near CLNR prospect.

Nevertheless we shall have to sit through August as I believe nothing much will happen..........we shall see.
