10/11/2008 18:01 | incredible daily volatility often contrarian to market moves with little apparent justification in news or trades my guess is it may touch 650p before dropping to 500p again but I could be totally wrong - trading rather than holding, bearing in mind the yield, seems the way to look at this share Max you will pick up a reasonable dividend on Friday and a trading profit - I think a good deal in these market conditions you will seldom get it spot on | jarjar

07/11/2008 19:18 | Why are Close Bros offering 7% for a one year term savings account? Why are they paying a premium for cash? | billlarkin
07/11/2008 16:38 | Yes it looks as if my sell the other day @£6.02p was slightly premature. | max euwe
06/11/2008 00:30 | jarjar, I bought these a few weeks ago @ £5.70 but only for the dividend. I was shocked to watch it drop to around £4.60 afterwards but held on. I sold today at £6.02 because I put a £6 sell order at the time of buying. I've made £2k with this but I'm beginning to regret selling. Like you I suspect there is some stakebuilding by someone, for what reason I don't know. Anyway good luck. | max euwe

17/10/2008 18:12 | where do we fit in the banks rescue package ? we are not directly involved but we should respond to the the new environment easier inter bank lending and lower bank rate but we have reduced profitability - not surprising we gained marginally with the market recovery and should continue to follow the market in the near term in time we should respond to the trading statements | jarbie
16/10/2008 13:43 | I am always hopelessly wrong at moment but if close can survive the next few years I would have though a lot of competion will be gone as the 'merchant banks' seem to be disappearing quickly. The strategy seems right to me-a break up would have been a disaster. But what effect does the lack of inter-bank lending, drying up whole sale markets etc have on these? | bloodsports
