Good analysis and incisive post Mayn. I think that your summary conclusion warrants repetition. This remains one of my top 5 holdings although I reduced my position recently as part of an overall strategy of moving into circa 50% cash. This was only to establish an opportunist cash position to take advantage of prospective lower shareprices in the overall marketplace later this year.

"Rough market conditions during the subsequent H2 will test CLIG’s investments, with FuM dropping 13% to below $10b not indicating obvious outperformance. A wonderful 49% margin and net cash of £25m funding a welcome £7m special dividend suggest the accounts can survive any further market weakness. Although the possible P/E is 11 and the yield tops 7%, the shares have been rated modestly for years as major new clients remain extremely elusive. I continue to hold."

Why is 400p a support level?

The real issue here is that B Olliff and his chums have put a ceiling on eventual share price growth.

Closed AZN today after 13yrs!

Short VRS remains.

Closed all others, but held onto CLIG, not exactly sure why? A whim or a way?

Catch a fishy? Hope not a falling knife?

The business model of CLIG is very sound. They should continue to prosper, as the DNA of CLIG is still in place. Barry has transitioned over the last decade to get to this point.

Masurenguy - you're living in the past. Investment is all about what's happening now, and the future.

RLOL - Barry Olliff owned 20% of the shares 10 years ago and has subsequently sold nearly 90% since then and now hold circa 2.4%. He has received over £20m from share sales plus around £12m in dividends during that period. He has nothing whatsoever to "rue" in relation to some small scale trading here over the past couple of years. You just continue to make a fool of yourself here with your lack of knowledge in relation to the integrity of the management and the money that they, and many long time shareholders, have made over the years !

Indeed, monty.
We'll soon find out how much ClIG was Barry and how much Barry was ClIG.
That said, the CLIG directorship appear to have been very aware of the ramifications of this change at the top and appear to have taken great care to ensure a smooth transition from Barry to post-Barry.

Barry still has a significant holding, he will be keeping an eye on things from a far, I bet. He has been superb for the company.

Good net flows all things considered. Barry finally retiring then, but lots of thought and process behind the transition, which must have taken best part of 10 years all in, and 2 attempts. Happy to hold for better times.
