Instead of handing out the special divi a short while ago, why couldn't the co. have used the cash pile to buy his shares back in?

Barry Olliff has sold a further small tranche of 58,858 shares @4.515p following his 110,529 share sale 5 days ago. Still leaves circa 330k shares to sell to complete his pre-planned 500k disposal at 450p.

That's interesting - I am still a premium (sic) subscriber and my name also shows in black in the opening post of threads that I've created - I assumed that was the'norm'.

You're correct except I ceased being a premium subscriber a year ago. ADVFN still show my username in blue but right at the top of the thread you will see that it is now black.

Interim results validate good first half performance 21 Feb 2020 / Corporate Research City of London interim results for 1H’20 - the main interest is in the underlying figures. With FUM growth supported by positive markets and net inflows, revenue growth was good at 11% compared with the same period last year. Despite the helpful conditions, City of London maintained its excellent cost control and the net result was a 23% increase in profit after tax to $5.06m. Cash conversion, as always, was excellent, with operating cashflow at 107% of earnings. Having shown robust performance in challenging market conditions, City of London is now reaping the benefits in a more supportive environment. The valuation remains reasonable. FY’18 and 1H’20 both saw dividend increases and, unless there is significant market disruption, more should follow in the next few years. hTTps://www.hardmanandco.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/CLIG-Feb-2020.pdf

Well done JR, that’s the way to do it as they say ✔️ No idea 2wild but CLIG is notable for the spread to jump about a bit.

This caught my eye "No plan survives contact with reality exactly as expected. Patience is the key ingredient that helps us endure difficult circumstances. While the road to achievement is a long one, those without patience - who want to see results immediately - may not be willing to remain on the path to achieve their goals." Initial purchase 2011 and added since, gains have been 50/50 dividend/capital approx

"ADVFN shows both LSE and NEX trades." Sorry mate that's wrong. Monitor and Quote only show LSE trades against CLIG.L You have to check CLIG.GB to see NEX on those screens. However, if you look on the Trades screen and have switched on "Level three montage" it will show both.
