The Abbot and others: today, Friday 20th is Triple Witching (third Friday of March, June, September and December). This is, I understand, when the institutional players have to settle margin calls, etc. The week leading into Triple Witching can be very turbulent! Perhaps this may partly explain the very odd behaviour of Soc Gen. Certainly been a funny old week. Hoping, just hoping that the share price is stabilizing as we await results on Thursday, 26th. The US market commentators have been saying that there is a sector shift away from growth stocks towards value stocks. Fingers crossed and very good luck to everybody !

@Sky - my understanding is that there's a payment due to AZN, that CIR don't have the money to meet - but whenever I ask the question on here, the BB goes strangely quiet :)

"...Its agreement with Astra also triggered $26.7m of payments to the drug giant and left Circassia saddled with a further $18.3m in R&D payments that needed to be made by year-end 2019, together with a final consideration of $100m due under the companies' agreement."

Do AZN take shares again instead of cash? Maybe. What does that mean for dilution down here? I don't follow closely enough to know the options, but CIR is not a straighforward bet IMO, and I doubt Griffiths knows any more than the rest of us.

Edit - CIR market cap £65m.

Edit #2 - @theabbot, suspect the only reason Griffiths has been able to acquire is due to WIM. But agree that ops have been few & far between - a few sudden bounces, and plenty of relentless grind down, but also plenty of staying at or near the bottom once Woody's sold. Partly due to how bad a stock-picker he is I guess.

Edit ~3 - Griffiths buying into DDDD too I see, reported earlier today.

Hi Specto - only dropped in here as someone flagged them up as worthy of a glance.

Not liking what I see; and without RG they could well be down into single figures by now!

Still, if he's prepared to pay 18p for Woodford's stake, has to be some justification for thinking a breakout through 20p might happen - then game on to the 40p/50p level.

A double or quits bet; and these days I don't place bets...

Certainly strange. Day 1 - buy. Day 2 - buy more. Day 3 - sell all of those and slightly more.

SG aren't effectively a nominee holder are they? So some clients buying, some selling, all aggregated?

Griffiths at 28.5% at last count - good luck to him, but I think he'll fry if this money owed to AZN doesn't get resolved - unless I've missed something?

Strange - I read that Societe General RNS that they have reduced from 13%+ to now below 6% - the trigger level for disclosure, so now at 5.99% and still another 22m to SELL!!!

Market doesn't agree by the look of it now. Selling still happening, probably Invesco. Shame.
