Peel Hunt: Cineworld shares not quite a ‘buy’ yet -

Cineworld (CINE) shares have fallen but not enough for Peel Hunt to rate the stock as a ‘buy’ yet, with the broker waiting for the business to stabilise.

Analyst Ivor Jones reiterated his ‘hold’ recommendation and lowered the target price from 85p to 75p on the stock, which closed down 7.1%, or 5.2p, at 68.3p on Tuesday.

‘Cineworld’s share price has drifted off since the highs of March when it reached 120p, more sharply recently,’ he said.

Currently demand for the cinema is ‘robust’ and attendance for major releases is at close to pre-Covid-19 levels.

However, Jones said Cineworld’s share price is ‘simply too vulnerable to its capital structure to take any chances’, given its large debt pile.

‘When we are sure the business has stabilised we may return to a more positive recommendation but, for now, we reiterate our “hold” recommendation and lower our target price,’ he added.

So here's the things you guys really should know about MILLSTONE INVESTOR.

He's all talk - he got no money - he's got more aliases than MI5 and he's so far underwater with shares in Boohoo PLC he needs SCUBA GEAR.

He claimed on here he shorted CINE but yet he had no idea about the collateral requirement.

We laugh at him everyday on the Boohoo message boards as he tries to "talk up" the share price every day back to 400p+ and that is the reason we call him MILLSTONE INVESTOR

The current share price still looks high to me. Given that it looks like Cineworld will miss their own base case scenario for May and June 2021.

No I did not, but yes buying more even today.

Netflix was looking to buy Regal the other year for $2.4bn,
so if they were interested then, I would think they might be
still now. They are worth $239bn, so cine would be a snip for them.

We shall see, keep posting, shorts and longs viewpoints are good
for a balanced thtread.

dyor a must.

US box office total for last weekend July 9-11 is currently $119,035,053. OK but not great for a tentpole release weekend (Black Widow). US box office total was $263,882,516 for the 2019 July 19-21 release weekend of the lion king, it was $126,932,873 for 2019 July 12-14 which was the second weekend of spider man: far from home. Would not be surprised to see either Amazon or Netflix buy screens - competition law in the US now allows them to make movies and own cinema screens Question is how they buy those screens - my guess is not by bidding CINE ordinary equity

Yes the majority box office.

7200 screens via regal and Amazon wanted them I believe, probably
still do and will get them if they still want them.

We shall see, the shorts closing or increasing will be the clear
picture I suppose.

Keep posting a balanced thread is best.
