of course not, but that is why we are at this low price.

this could be a great recovery play.

a small piece of encouraging news will send it way higher.

thanks for your opinions...still think these are worth a small gamble, but no longer a safe long-term investment

Mister MD
Occasionally look in. I'm glad they are making headway and I still believe there is a decent business in there without the retail. Unfortunately though, the debt levels are far too high against assets for me now. If it comes good, then great for those that took the punt. I'm happy with what I'm holding at present. The money went into GNG (up 30 %) since invested and TMC (up 20 % since invested).

Early days yet though.

with only 18 million shares in issue and a turnover of over £160m yr it wont take long for this to get back to 50p.

Current market cap of 2.2 million is too low. The drop has been way overdone.

New management will be more positive in the future.

IMO

JTCod-if you still track this.. are you still avoiding ChoicesUK at the moment after selling up? Did you see that the statement on their website was a bit more positive than the RNS and mentions contracts with Somerfield/Odeon cinemas etc?
I know their debt is high, but things don't seem that bad sales trading-wise?
Your current views much appreciated...

apollo went bust a few weeks ago, the third biggest chain in the country. chuk and blockbusters the 2 biggest now should get more footfall as they will benefit from poaching apollos customers. its not all gloomy for this company

funny, the statement on their website is a bit more positive-sounding than the RNS they put out....

To comply with stock market regulations the Company made an announcement this morning confirming a poor trading performance over Easter. For those of you familiar with our trading patterns, it will come as no surprise that this continued spell of hot weather has adversely affected our business, particularly rental. This is a disappointment after a succession of positive results and a fabulous performance over the Christmas period.

Clearly, we are operating in a difficult market and, looking at the factors within our control, we have actually achieved a great deal in recent months.

The underlying trends for our business remain positive with, for example:

In Local, an agreement to supply Somerfield Supermarkets from May 2007; an agreement to supply Odeon Cinemas from June 2007 and over 160 new Rental sites in One Stop (Tesco), Martins and Threshers.
A fantastic result on the PS3 launch from our Fufilment, Internet and Stores businesses enabling us to secure a 6.5% market share.
A re-vamped and simplified Stores proposition now majoring on value, trade-in and games.
Continued improvements to our Internet business which bring new opportunities both for our own site and third party sites
We need to remain focused on new business opportunities, increasing efficiencies, controlling costs and maximising margins. The Board remains committed to the ongoing development of the Company and your ongoing support and effort is greatly appreciated. .

This is a bit like people slowing down to look at a car crash... morbidly fascinating.

Should save the company £750K a year or thereabouts. May be worth a punt now.
