if you look at the history of these shells they almost never pay out anything like the alleged value of their assets

no figures are posted here for Dec 2010 but in 2009 a chunk of the supposed assets were intangible, stocks and debtors

about a third were intangibles [ ie no value in a shell]

i would think 10-12p is fair value for a punt

maybe the 2010 accounts would convince me differently

but i know nothing dyor

Just got to dot the i's and cross the t's now. There is no such thing as a sure thing but this is a steady stock, even if they don't find a new 'investment' for the proceeds the net asset value is around 30p per share which will be returned to shareholders after 12 months of looking.

Movement up on little volume. A bit of buying and these could move sharply higher. They look very cheap.

Simon

I trust that is not the same daughter that invested into NXS at much higher levels!

Out of interest do you or your family still own any shares in NXS?

MONIS,

It may not interest CWO shareholders (in which event, I apologise for wasting others' time) but Mrs Emma Roebuck is my younger daughter.

MONIS is correct the Wonder name relates to the larger Wonder Group which includes Wonder Automotive which is listed on NASDAQ;WATG,and Wonder EV which is the intended supplier of Electric vehicles to Metroelectric.

I have not looked into this but I am put off by the silly name and the connotations it brings with other AIM Chinese disasters.

Is a name change on the list of 'to do' items ?

Given the high and rising price of gold i'd suggest 'Golden Wonder'

Gentlemen,

I confirm that I have bought more China Wonder on Friday last. And so also have other members of my family.

The reason for the low, indeed absurd, rating is that the market does not believe in the management whereas I think that the management have clearly done a good job. After all, the fact is that the management did develop a couple of businesses and sold them profitably and for cash. What else can shareholders expect of their appointed management?

A decent punt in china -

Looks like Prosperity's ACC stake is marching higher again, up 8.6% to another new high of 22.59, ACC stake now worth £170m.

PMHL's total market valuation £168m.

PMHL's Total Assets worth £538m (Net cash £140m)(Prosperity's ACC stake has a market value of £170m). Waiting for PMHL to play catch up.

Prosperity Minerals Holdings (120.5p) (LON:PMHL) (30.3.11) has an absurdly low valuation according to Daniel Stewart & Co's Richard Nolan.

The appointment of Rivington would suggest to me they will be promoting it as a buy through their newsletters and high profile tipsters.
