You wait for years and years for Bennett to buy a stake and when he does it's tiny. Lets hope he buys more because that tiny buys does nothing for me !

I note it's he's 1st purchase after being involved since float. £5k is not exactly pushing the boat out. Not complaining, just like to keep a grip on reality where cnel are concerned.

Or the non-executive Director sees the company is significantly undervalued & has such belief to place his money where his mouth is.

Concerted effort from the directors to get the share price up. Still looks like a trust issue with Chinese AIM shares.

Excellent news : The Chairman, Mr Yu, commented "Mr Jiang was recently promoted to CEO of our main operating division ZKTY, and his share purchases demonstrate real confidence and commitment to the future development of the business".

Yea poombear a mystery but, on the markets you get sellers at the best of times and at the worst of times just the way it is.

I wasn't suggesting they do not have the cash. Just puzzled by Mr Jinbing's motivation.

"If they do not have excess cash they should not be buying shares." Exactly. Look at previous update, business is strong. They do have excess cash.

Generally share buybacks are a way of distributing excess cash for the benefit of the shareholders value. Ie less shares means higher shareprice. If they do not have excess cash they should not be buying shares. So no wanting to write off £560k doesn't wash with me.

Added more at 1.593p. Think that is a big vote of confidence, they can still buyback another 50million shares aswell.

Poombear If they cancel them they more or less have written off £560k which is money they should really need. They normally raise money every year or so or they could use it to lower liabilities. Maybe they will keep them and try and place them at a later date for a profit.

Yeah I get that, but still could have offloaded over a few months. With regards to treasury shares, I believe they can be used for employee share incentives schemes (or indeed sold or later cancelled) so I think they will redistribute to employees, there is a plan here.

He'd have got away with 2-3 mil selling on open market then price would have dropped close to that level, so how does he sell the other 43 million when it's 1.2 bid and there is no buyers in this poor market. That is why for him wanting out 1.2p is a excellent price

So in March we had. "The Company is also pleased to announce that it has raised approximately £700,000 (RMB 6 million) by way of a subscription from Mr. Lv Jingbin, a Chinese resident, for 46,808,809 new ordinary shares at a price of £0.015 per share representing 9.53% of the enlarged issued share capital and a premium to the current share price." When the shareprice was around 1.2p so could have bought cheaper on the open market. Today we have. "The Board of CNE (AIM:CNEL), the AIM quoted engineering and technology solutions provider to the bioenergy sector, announces that it has purchased 46,808,809 ordinary shares in the Company at a purchase price of 1.2 pence per share from Mr. Lv Jingbin for a total cash consideration of £561,705.71 and transferred them into treasury. As at the date of this announcement, Mr. Lv no longer has an interest in the Company." When the shareprice is 1.5p and could have been sold for more on the open market. So what's going on here, I don't get it from Mr Jingbin perspective? What happens to treasury shares, why aren't they just cancelled?

Good morning poombear That 500,000 buy just now might well be one. Even if not, the fact that there is a decent sized buy after the share price fell in the light presumably of a few PI sells, is encouraging.
