Personally , I think that Carroll would be the most pessimistic signing since Paul Furlong or Mateja Kežman. I suppose he could always help the groundsmen. :o)

Nice new thread. Exciting signing today. Reminds me a bit of when we signed Frank Lampard before the Abramovich era and he didn't do too badly in the end.

Waiting for a striker now. Read somewhere yesterday that Andy Carroll might be on our radar. I don't think that's as daft as it appears at first. Will put himself about in the box a la Costa and WILL score goals. Morata is far more technically gifted but can seem a bit lightweight at times. Interesting month ahead.

Largely agree Tommo - but the Sanchez move to Man City may of course free Aguero so we should be in for both

As for Conte - the issue has always been that the management above him make most of the decisions - hence his (and previous managers) frustrations

It looks like the club may be finally recognising this issue albeit change is taking some time and he may still not get the final veto he wants and imo deserves

Let's hope Marina keeps her nose out and all the other muppets under control
