It's obvious that Venus want a listing, want access to capital, want to develop their assets.

A merger with CHF is an easy solution to their problem.

If that happens, aau will earn into 50% of the Venus licenses, but not ours, but I think some licenses are adjacent so mineralisation will likely overlap, so it is obvious that Venus and CHF will merge or form a JV.

I still think that CHF will RTO Venus by issuing shares and work alongside AAU on some licenses where they will earn a 50% interest. We may even take the Venus nameplate.

Yes, I suspect whenever a company like poly invests its just a downpayment/strategic investment which if then followed with takeover gives a good foothold in the door, with final takeover share price not as much concern to the acquirer because of their existing holdings

I didn't dare say that again.

But if the share price was say 30p could they then get shorters interested and create liquidity, volatility, and a lower spread?

The share price is too low. The mm has done a lousy job but wasn't helped by that recent cut throat placing at 9p. That placing was way too cheap, but then we don't know what the "relationship agreement" contains.

Normally for a major like poly to get a deal as they got they'd need to commit to something, not merely cash for cheap shares.

I think the 9p placing was just a down payment.

I thought we were not allowed to say AAU looked an over complex structure with a hint of dodgyness for fear of death threats from the BB darlings

They say that shorting provides liquidity, but who would short this right now?

Normally, selling causes the share price to fall, but you're saying the opposite...

The spread is too high, liquidity too low.

Looking at the Ariana news today, confirmation of a previously announced JV arrangement, does it seem like they are edging out of their other assets and towards Venus, copper and Cyprus?

I have not been a great fan of aau as I have said before, but their tilt towards copper is interesting, tho again they will only earn 50% of the Venus assets by spending £2m.

A very interesting summer ahead.

I think that is exactly what will happen, issue CHF shares to take over a private listed company.

Excellance they are currently well cashed up and can only issue 20% new shares without going down the prospectus route again.
Maybe some sort of takeover action might warrant that, who knows.

Lol
Just me and my cynical ways.
Let's hope they only issue half that number of shares.

My other copper gold play have issued 10.5 billion shares up to now and are still only worth £30m
