Just having a look again, I think I would rather wait until the next set of financials before taking a stake.....you know what they say about profit warnings and coming in threes!

Some life left in CHG yet , just the market doing its usual stuff , I think these could turn round very quickly and at these prices its up to you to decide whether you want to risk being outside if a bid emerges - or a hoofing contract. The middle East is a hotbed and I dont think CHG will stay where it is pricewise if there is a proper kick off there. All IMHO of course,( avoid like the plague if it makes you feel safer)

Geoff Foster in the Mail - 22/11/12:

Chemring, the UK defence equipment maker, rose 12.2p to 229.2p amid whispers that another private equity player is sniffing round after Carlyle Group recently decided to walk away. It did not give a reason but it's decision followed two profit warnings from Chemring in less than three months as a result of contract and production delays and technical problems with one of its products.

You to simon :-)

had my eye on these for months - traded them once on the way down but that long straght run in the shares recently said bottom imo, Was just a mater of catching it before it flew imo.

A realy tight bowl? Might be exciting even if it only gets part of this bounce.

technically very over sold so may get a bit of a bounce as shorters close in anticipation of 27 nov. if poor or expected dire results then yes may go for a further leg down.

constant short attack by bots to flush out weak hands target looks like 200. I would love the management to bring forward statement to give the shorts a good squeeze. very unusual to have these large dir purchases and the company to go under. at jarvis the directors threw in a couple of quid whereas at mouchel nothing.

I wrote my note above before learning about the ce and chair purchases. I agree that this is a big vote of confidence. I was not impressed by the 10k purchase reported in morning. Perhaps there is life in old dog after all. As swing trader need confirmation of bottom however before taking punt. Would like a rise to 230 then a retest of 220.

CHG article on Stockopedia:

The Cheapness of Chemring

The net amount spent on acquisitions over the 7 years was £456m which was almost 3 times the company's free cash flow for the same period. It is hardly surprising then that the company's gearing has been relatively high, at times approaching 100%, with the occasional need to place further shares to fund the cost of the acquisitions. In 2011 however the gearing reduced to 55% given that only part of the proceeds from a share placement was spent on acquiring GD Detection Systems.

Look, the new CEO is hardly going to spend over £100k on shares and then on the 27th of this month report another profit warning.....

....is he?

Well thats my 2 cents.
