Thanks medtrader and DPMCQ,

The trade isn't shown on Plus either I will contact TDW as, on paper, the cost has been debited from my account and the shares are shown in my portfolio.

I printed out all the details at the time of the trade.

Always do, just in case.

I bought some shares in this company yesterday and for some reason the trade hasn't been shown. The 2,458 buy shown today isn't my trade.

Like you said not much interest here but if you look back thru' the thread those like me here at around 11p then this recovery is music to the ears!
Also followed PG buying with interest - although it might come to nothing it has in the past.

The pension problem is hardly a ballooning one. £8.8m at the interim stage and reduced to £6.9m at year end. Mainly an accounting problem caused by very low interest rates and bond yields. Anyway, that's only a years cash flow.

Dividend expected next year, and best of all, the prat director who presided over the destruction of shareholder value has gone. They were at the equivalent of 250p not that long ago. It may be a while before they get back there, but they seem to be on track at last.

Comparing the full year results with the half year interims shows a strong improvement in the second half.

Interims reported a loss per share of 2.6p compared to a 3.77p pre exceptional profit at the full year. So 6.3p earnings in the second half.

Pre exceptional EBITDA was £2m at halfway and pre-exceptional operating profit £0.4m.
At full year EBITDA was £5.4m and operating profit was £2.2m.

The business may be one that is weighted towards the second half, but if the turnaround is genuine that suggests epc could be 12.6p for a 12 month period, perhaps higher if margin improvements continue.

Even the pension deficit looked better at full year, £6.9m compared to £8.8m at the interim stage.

Pity the shareprice has not improved on results.

Well if PG wants to bid for this (or anyone else for that matter) they will have to act sooner rather than later if this recovery continues the price per share will be much much higher with not that many shares in issue and 60 odd percent closely held (see below).

Major Shareholders
Number of securities in issue - 20,404,090, 50p ordinary shares (none in treasury), 100,000 First Cumulative Preference Shares of 50p and 750,000 Second Cumulative Preference Shares of £1.

Percentage of shares not in public hands - 61.31%.

There are no restrictions on the transfer of AIM securities.

Overall it is quite good.

EPS of 5.28p including exceptionals and 3.77p underlying. Strong cash flow means that debt could be eliminated in about 18 months and they intend to pay a dividend next February.

The margins are still very low, there is plemty of room for future improvement.

Great set of results & I like this -

Outlook
I believe our investors can draw confidence from the performance during the last
year when, notwithstanding a difficult economic climate, we delivered a
significantly improved financial performance. All of our businesses continue to
be profitable and cash generative.

Polymer prices have continued to rise into the early part of the current
financial year. The outlook for polymer prices remains unclear and the economic
recovery in the markets we serve is still at an early stage.

However, whilst our traditional markets will continue to be challenging, we are
encouraged by growth in higher added value areas which we believe offer further
growth opportunities.

Overall, we are cautiously optimistic for our trading performance for the
current financial year.

Finally, on behalf of shareholders I would like to thank our entire team, both
management and employees, for their hard and effective work during last year and
for their enormous contribution in challenging market conditions.

Good riddance Brian Leckie.

I suppose the appointment of Tom Russel is mildly good news. If he is representig Hanover investments who own 25% of CPL, hopefully he will want to see an improvement in the shareprice.

No announcement on when results are due. It was on the 11th June last year.

I could do with some of my other holdings jumping 19% in a day (at 15.28) without any announcements or apparent reason. Have CPL started a volcanic ash removal business?

The last trading statement said profits were well ahead of last year before ex items EBITA was £2.8m in 2009 so I assume profits will be above this level? so about the present market cap of CPL.
