Why are they Form 8.3 and 8.5's coming through? I thought that meant there had been a bid approach

lol, some familiar faces on here!! Kaos3 you surprise me popping up here, you like a drop of Three Graces? Been through Seedrs raises and throughly enjoying the shareholders perks for quite a while now. Pump prior to raise maybe, but definitely a market disruptor and profile being raise very quickly now, and rightly so, producing some wonderful wines now, some French Houses must be looking ? gla

Nov31 ... in short ... not a penny unfortunately... as the money would be spent as you suggested, not invested imho at this AAU development phase

Most likely to be a pump to get the price up before they come to share holders for money. Much better to raise at higher prices, before the inevitable slide!

the most important aspect to me is how much of production is being dedicated to ageing as such stock improves margins and helps in bad times .... a piggy bank of sorts

i am observing for years. i have never seen a public company developing long term bio assets and the infrastructure needed - growht needing decades to ripe - ending as envisioned at the start

this time it will be different

such business are in its essence family businesses ... who can endure the biblical 7 hard years, and can wait decades to cream the cream

a very interesting story that is. wine worldwide is in oversupply... critical mass to compete is relatively low /boutique producer on few ha is in game/... the main selling point is being domestic producer imho

fingers crossed for the shareholders

I think if the company had received any informal approach about funding they'd have bothered to mention it in the RNS.

I suspect the co. have been approached for a strategic stake or total t/o, interesting few weeks ahead here, just need a final investment push to process the additional fruit, increase visibility of brand and thats the leverage they need to move to the top league.

The move to the main market was always with raising significant funding in mind. We have not run out of cash. There is a 12m RCF facility undrawn however RCF extension is an expensive way to pay for expansion so a part equity part debt funding round or part sale makes sense. Ideal time for someone like LVMH Moet to take a strategic stake. Pernod or Diageo could also be possibilities. Long and strong. I think it's great timing given the trajectory of the business and brand.

They could have bid at any time at a significant premium, but they don't need to add that premium now. Is there a cheaper or better way for a French champagne house to establish itself in England when conditions in the Champagne region are becoming less favourable? Just adding a French maker to the label will add £5 a bottle. Anyway, we'll see.

In my experience takeovers almost never come about from these strategic reviews. I mean I can think of dozens of them and maybe 1 that ended as a bid.

If anyone wanted to bid for it they could have done so at anytime.

Are there any examples of wine companies being bid for at this valuation?

It leaves it at "could go either way". Takeover's obviously the best option as far as shareholders are concerned. This opens the door for an offer from one of the big champagne houses not far off the current share price, which yesterday they'd have assumed would have been rejected out of hand. Only if two parties are interested will it go for much more. Any other funding option would be at a significant discount you'd think.
