28/6/2006 13:13 | It all comes down to strategy. Being an ex-employee of one of these companies (not saying which) gives me a little extra insight. The CUC board know where they want to go and how to get there - just depends if they have enough money to do it. (Interims advise that based on customers' forecasts, they will have enough cash, but forecasts have never been accurate from automotive buyers). The DVS board are reactive and will take whatever opportunity (retail, automotive, one-offs) is screaming loudest to them at the time (sometimes these are opportunities that no-one else wants). The DVS contracts are mostly with Car marketing companies (importers, after sales, dealer fit), not the manufacturers themselves for line-fit. As these systems gain popularity and are driven back up the supply chain the manufacturers will fit them on-line and CUC's strategy should then be the more profitable. All IMHO | 2clueless
28/6/2006 11:03 | Still dont understand why CUC should get such a good rating when their Rival Dvs gets such a poor rating yet a quick glance at news on both shows Dvs is miles ahead on progress, orders and profits. I'm not saying that Cuc wont come good but if Cuc can be valued at 6 million then why is Dvs not at least the same. | quotes_4_u
28/6/2006 06:08 | have spoken to a few people who are very poss about the future. also the share options start to kick in at about £1. they did say along time ago that would not b in profit at the first half. and looking to pay divi in the future.only 13 mill shares now will not take much buying to get to a £1. 26/6/2006 11:31 | Off Topic: Compare the news of CUC to that of DVS (Designer Vision) Designer Vision sees FY well ahead of current market forecasts LONDON (AFX) - Designer Vision Group PLC, which supplies portable multimedia systems, said it expects results for the year to Dec 31 2006 to be well ahead of current market forecasts after trading in the first five months of the current year came in significantly ahead of the same period last year. The company also said it has arranged a convertible loan of up to 1 mln stg through a facility provided by the Headstart Funds. The board said it believes that the facility, which has been provided to fund increased working capital requirements, will be repaid within the 180 days term of the loan from the cash generated from the current level of orders due for delivery over this period. Chairman and CEO Angelo Panayiotou said the group is making rapid progress in securing major orders and in developing new products for its retailing customers, particularly those operating in global markets. | thenaughtyboy

26/6/2006 09:12 | If anybody is seriously thinking of buying CUC then surely they must buy Dvs instead, Dvs is their rival and is quite clearly out-performing them on all departments yet has a much lower market-cap. | quotes_4_u
26/6/2006 07:58 | Taken from the RNS... "Outlook and future prospects As a matter of good practice we have required that our Auditor Ernst & Young LLP review this interim statement. As a matter of emphasis, Ernst & Young LLP have stated that, in the context of the recently completed restructuring and the ramping up of the new strategy, there remains a fundamental uncertainty as to the Company's ability to continue as a going concern. Nevertheless the Company continues to perform in line with management's forecasts, and the Directors confirm that the working capital available to the Company will be sufficient for its present requirements for at least the next 12 months, based upon their reasonable assumptions.! | fusebox
