If they cut the dividend then Conn has to go.

He stated it would be a progressive dividend policy a few years ago. To fail to live up to your promises is to fail no matter how much Glitter you sprinkle on it.

Maybe he meant the dividend would get progressively worse, which it already has due to inflation. He’s had years to build a strategy and implement it and he’s failed miserably.

Sod off Conn.

There is no proof that the company is doing bad. Conn stated he was happy to see some customers who were not only unprofitable but may be losing money leave. The sector as a whole is unloved with pressure on profits and political interference.

Some positive news on nuclear stake sale with Results not disappoint, would kick share price north

In the mean time I’m going to start ‘I hate Aviva ‘ campaign

Yes I agree Nortic, this must be one of the most un- loved companies in the Ft. If they cut the div it might drop a lot. A lot of investors are only in CNA for their dividend. If they stopped it I would consider selling some of my shares here

bookbroker. It’s easy to retain customers by holding the prices below cost . Hence the reason so many companies selling below cost going under. Try making a profit while others are selling under cost , not so easy.

Turnover is vanity , profits is sanity.

Conn is doing a good job

Hi ArgyleRich,

You are correct if you are referring to MP's in Parliament "Representatives of the will of the people is democracy." The key word is representatives. Geoffrey Robertson QC summed this up well when he wrote.

‘Our democracy does not allow, much less require, decision-making by referendum. That role belongs to the representatives of the people and not to the people themselves. Democracy has never meant the tyranny of the simple majority, … Democracy entails an elected government, subject to certain checks and balances such as the common law and the courts, and an executive ultimately responsible to parliament, whose members are entitled to vote according to conscience and common sense.'

It is Parliament who will decide what happens and if they opt for a Peoples vote that is entirely democratic.

Conn needs to be shot the damage he has done to this company, make him do as the Chinese, and crawl to work, at the same time as being beaten across his backside, then stand up and eat some chilli, he is effin useless, losing customers hand over fist, he is the only utility head to complain at the treatment received from the regulators, the others just get on with the job!

Yes Nortic, the sooner this gets finished the better. But the Tory's have themselves to blame for putting in a remainer, when the people voted to leave.

Yes ArgyleRich, only reason it was that difference in number was the people who wanted to leave could see May's deal was a fudge. The opposition Labour, SNP, Lib Dems are aways going to oppose the Tory's that's their job.
