Russia need the cash, we need the gas.
Yet another risk for CNA.
Putin could hurt BP, although probably not as bad as the USA rip off after the Gulf spill.
What a mess.

Maybe our government are smarter than we think.
The upcoming financial problems can be blamed on Russia, not Brexit.

Hi Nortc, just blue today. One day left for the week and 3.1p down. I made a comment about a week ago about I would love to see this go up about 8p to make it 1.50, and I had two down thumbs so some of us here want it to go down. You are like me we just want this to go sharply northwards, a lot of us are in heavy here. Hopefully a good day tomorrow so the week won't be so bad :)

Cheers. I think from memory it's the Germans who rely very heavily on Russian gas. That is why they don't want to be too harsh on them

We can always get the 20% Russian gas elsewhere?

At least we are seeing blue today, after a poor start to the week. Hopefully we will finish well, and a big day tomorrow. We are 3.15p down before the start of the day this week. 8 weeks today x-div, so hopefully a push northwards

Ooh. This is the most excitement the CNA thread has seen in a long time.

Definitely reason that the UK and rest of Europe need to be more self sufficient when it comes to power creation and storage. Can't keep relying on others for these, especially if we are to believe everything they say about Russia?

Now, anyone seen that Damn GroundHog, I'm sure I saw him run past here earlier. I think he had one of those funny Russia Style Hats on?

Scotland is not Glasgow. The Lochs are just stunning, the snow peaked mountains will leave you staring at them for hours. Fantastic country drives . And no YELLOW or RED lines on the roads

"1. Government will want to work WITH the industry"
...now that WOULD be something different :-)

For the sake of argument if we were to embargo Russian gas , what would the consequence be for our industry?

1. Government will want to work WITH the industry
2. Gas prices will undoubtedly have to rise
3. Companies will be allowed to make more profit so as to reinvest (storage)
4. CAP and nationalisation will be brushed under the carpet.

Just my take

Not really. LNG is freely available from state side (fracking) and Qatar , we are heading into summer and should things get really bad there is always the Dunkirk spirit
