No dividend but going forward a more streamlined company. Beneficiary of high oil price not reflected in the share price. These were over £3 a few years ago. Currently hovering around 50p Mark I think they are a great recovery story. New CEO clued up unlike predecessor. #cna

Hah.......I have COST already. Not sure why folk are here when BP. Is still cheap as chips a paying a divi if that is what folk want.
Take a look at UKW, I am thinking they may be a good long term buy. Just bought another shed load of windfarms.

Noted Skinny. Clearly no credence in 'the mutterings'. Have visited the company website to review the figures and comment. Overall the future looks brighter.

Aspers, you can invest in both as part of a broad portfolio. Both are doing very well as are many others of mine, others which will still treble hopefully for me are BAB, KIER, COST, CPI, and many others ;)

Cleverinvestor/Ammu.........I told you little chance of a divi being brought back. Ask yourself one thing, do you drag your feet here for another year or double your money in travel stocks? An easy decision I think.
Good luck whatever.

Pretty good IMO.
Offset the US sale income against many impairments. A wise way to play it. Seen making a large profit with recent price increases and the covid environment wouldn't have been wise.
Long overdue turnaround of this behmoth into a moderm, lean multifaceted business is well under way.
Happy holder here!

Dividend

-- In April, we announced the decision to cancel payment of the 2019 final dividend per share of 3.5p in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. No 2020 interim dividend was paid, and we are also proposing no 2020 final dividend. We recognise the importance of dividends to shareholders and intend to recommence dividends to shareholders when it is prudent to do so.

Go on Skinny, do the honours. I’ll eat my hat if any of it was worth reading as they’re so selfish they are intent on trashing all adult conversation on any board they plague.

If O'Shea is true to his word then I'm anticipating a much clearer picture tomorrow. A positive update , forward look and restoration of the dividend would witness a much needed boost to the share price and more importantly fundamentally change the trend ...which has been relentlessly downward over the past five years.

Cleverinvestor : I'm not sure about your 'over 100p'but... in due course certainly. That would probably put the share in line for a return to the FTSE100 ? Whether 'the mutterings' prove to be accurate or not...It is clear from the tone and candour of the FT article that O'Shea is under pressure from large influential holders to redress the balance.

In my opinion , 'the mutterings' do have legs. The company pulled its divi last year , is apparently trading more profitably , has sold a substantial asset for a particularly good return , oil prices are now trading north of 60 dollars when last year they were nearer 20 ..which will enhance the book value of Spirit Energy , the company is re-focusing in respect of both income and expenditure, OFGEM has raised the price cap ..etc , etc. Restoration of the dividend north of 3.5p will see a ten per cent rise in the share price ..at least. Is today's late surge in the share price indicative ? Could well be. Long term CNA holders are overdue and IMPORTANTLY ..O'Shea recognises that.
