29/11/2022 08:36 | CNIC remain extremely cheap imho. Zeus Capital's forecasts are: this year : 19.1c EPS, or 15.92p EPS next year : 20.4c EPS, or 17p EPS At 135p that's a P/E of only 7.9 for the year about to start. And Zeus have stated that "we see potential upside to earnings forecasts due to conservative forecasts", given their cautious Q4 forecasts and the usual seasonality weighted to Q4. | rivaldo
28/11/2022 19:25 | Dave. In the first place Scot did not do a report on Cnic obviously . As stated he doesn’t understand the business model. He merely put a small comment in the comments section because someone requested a report.secondly as alluded to in the presentation there are distressed sellers around at the moment, has been witnessed in other falling stock after good results. Common practice to sell into strength particularly if you have a sizeable holding. Max Boyde the founder recently bought at £1.28 before the blip. Not surprised he wanted more. They don’t know who is out there selling. The sensible thing a fund manager would do is to contact the company if they wanted out , not just dump them in the market. As far as Smv goes it did drop on a warning about a flat year next year and the fact that they might return cash or buyback shares. It was Truss’ budget that caused the price to halve. I don’t know if you have looked at Kestrel Partners website but they have an extensive list of companies they have had an interest in as well as some that they moved on from. I don’t really understand your business model. If you don’t like them nobody is forcing you to stay. | earwacks
28/11/2022 17:59 | To be fair, Paul Scott admitted he didn't really understand the business model - it was his former colleague Jack who used to bang the drum for CNIC. | roghart1
28/11/2022 17:29 | Oh and Smoove was tanking well before Truss's budget. | dave2608
28/11/2022 16:41 | On results day, initially the share price rose then slumped. What was that all about I wondered. Then I find out that the slump appeared to coincide with the timng of Paul Scott's small cap report comments. Whether or not you rate Paul Scott, he has a huge fan base who cling on to his every word and it would seem his comments triggered the share price slump. Then there is a subsequent rally. What's this all about? Then we learn that Kestrel have been buying like crazy. Yes that would explain it. This afternoon buying has gone berserk. Kestrel again? Without Kestrel I'd imagine the price would still be stuck in the 110s. | dave2608
28/11/2022 16:01 | It's getting too much for me. | azaman

28/11/2022 15:57 | You get the feeling some have given up here with the lack of price momentum during 2022 (and that post update lurch down) What are the chances it now finally breaks out?!! | se81
28/11/2022 15:50 | It is the same company Kesterel, but a different founder Oliver who bought all the shares. Basically it got hit by the Truss budget bus which flattened a lot of companies over night. Nothing wrong with the company. They have tons of cash. Obviously the housing market has tailed off and Smv speciality is a disrupter in the criminally inefficient house transaction market from conveyancing to mortgages. Kestrel Partners specialise in niche internet markets offering finance and consultancy support. I think they have about 7 or 8 companies they are involved in to different degrees. FNX is another one doing very well at the moment | earwacks
28/11/2022 15:46 | Nice afternoon move up - hopefully just the beginning. Thre are winners and losers in every portfolio. Kestrel get more right than wrong. Including this one :o)) | rivaldo
28/11/2022 15:29 | The same Kestrel that was buying shares galore in a company now known as Smoove at around 80p a pop. Mid price currently 33.5p. | dave2608

25/11/2022 14:56 | This could be the momentum we need now to get up and out, I suspect when it finally breaks it will be aggressive to the upside | doobz |
