Did they give any indication on the call of duration/cost to remedy? If they're still mining ore then you would hope it would in the next few weeks/months. Having said that I think you would continue mining until you had a better idea of duration.

Company has been in contact with the insurers and believe the tailings incident is an insurable event.

I would have liked a brief explanation of the two pictures of the leak. It's hard to tell the scale. There's a white wall and a grey area, part of which appears to have washed away. What's actually going on in those pictures?

Solid set of results, particularly in the context of a global pandemic and volatile commodity prices - exactly what you'd expect from a well run company. Pragmatic choice re the dividend too - would have been a PR disaster to reinstate the dividend and would only have served to irritate locals and government. I'd expect after compensation and cleanup is agreed we'll see it back - and in short time too. Outlook considering commodity prices is bright. Happy and optimistic holder.

I anticipate we will get more details on the analyst call later this morning. My expectation is we will get a dividend albeit at a level reflecting any remedial action costs at SASA.

Disagree Warranty - as a previous poster suggested, this is merely a blip in the road and the underlying business is performing strongly .... CAML would not have suggested that closure to SASA unlikely to be too long if they did not believe that was the case

CAML currently has a market cap $50m below what they paid for SASA with the ultra low cost, high margin Kounrad copper business thrown in for free.

Copper price is now 10% higher and the Zinc and Lead price 1-2% higher than the level when SASA was purchased in 2018.

Toss of a coin how the market will see this but delaying the dividend and no certainty on the level of the fine or clean up costs, which surely CAML will be liable for, lead me to think it will fall on opening.

TS4 had capacity until mid 2020s. TS5 doesn't exist as far as I can see.

A superb set of H1 results from an excellent management - the very strong cash generation and vastly improved debt position during a period of 20 year low industrial metal pricing was outstanding, highlighting well the very low cost nature and exceptional resilience of the businesses to severe economic shocks.

With copper, zinc and lead prices since up 55%, 41% and 23% from the April Covid-19 low, CAML is well positioned for recovery.

Pugugly,

Metal prices have massively improved over the last couple of months since period end so all good for this year and a large chunk of debt has been paid down. Both good news but who knows what the market will make of it ?

I think it has been priced in. The market overshot, as usual in these cases. I wouldn't be surprised to see a modest share price recovery today. This is all short term stuff and will be resolved quickly. The market will be more interested in the future of metal prices, as am I. They look very positive.

why all the bullish comments - Margins down - eps - down - risks from leak unquantified and restart and penalties still unquantified - Should fall on market opening - but what do I know? Might already have been priced in.

Lots of investment and mine optimisation going on.

It might be interesting to know when TSF5 is coming online, especially as TSF4 is almost full and had the spill.

Excellent results with great financial confidence of reinstating the dividend while other companies completely forgot about it. A proof CAML is positively shareholders orientated.
Such companies will outperform other sectors and peers as soon as metal-hungry world economy start to recover. A great performance under difficult conditions all over the world and a great company to have in any portfolio for the long term.
