23/7/2020 09:22 | 200p paid . A long way back from 90p and derampers trying to destroy it down to 60/70p . Survived the bid at 126p ... now showing its true worth and could go significantly higher yet . Good luck long holders . | kennyp52
23/7/2020 09:21 | LC- do you ever contribute anything other than sniping at me? There is no point in it. I am impervious to calumny. | rose_by_another_name
23/7/2020 09:20 | When U.S markets open today, I expect p.o.g. to hit $1890- 1900 and CEY to go through 200p | azalea
23/7/2020 09:11 | need to smash 200 now for a decent surge | juju44
23/7/2020 08:38 | Got some SLP after the close at 46 yesterday. Was going to get back into CEY on a dip, which hasn't come. | rose_by_another_name
23/7/2020 08:28 | Quite surprised we haven’t punched through £2 this week. Looks to be building a head of steam up before going up. 🙏 | larry laffer
22/7/2020 23:13 | SLP share price returning to 66p+ is dependent on covid-19 cases in the S.African mining sector imo. There is a possibility of 25% of mining production being affected.Mining is already a dangerous business in South Africa so i hope they don't make it even more hazardous by not protecting the workforce.Pt and Pd prices will continue to rise like other PMs so it is a question of being patient. | redbaron10
22/7/2020 21:48 | Kenny, Think everyone involved predicting around 70-80p. Something has to give, it's crazily priced. I hold long slp, short term trade cey | martinfrench
22/7/2020 20:16 | kenny - I will be happy if they get close to 25c dividend this year. However I think they will be more conservative, unless this high POG is sustained (or bettered) throughout. | fenners66
22/7/2020 19:58 | Redbaron .. Fres .. you are right .. lot of the potential downside was priced in so the market seems to be happy with the lower but reasonable production and that it is not disastrous . Be interesting to see their financials as the rise could be a little premature whereas CEY is easier to read and work out when you have the production IMHO. Good to see those that held in FRES have been rewarded ... or should that read rescued . I keep a nominal amount to monitor the price and sold out at the level it is now when I got nervous of some of the news filtering through before it bombed . Stayed out as built my holding elsewhere so had no spare for FRES which I considered riskier than HGM , JLP and SRB ... which is currently lagging due to Brazil Covid problem . MARTINFRENCH ..... SLP ... Sylvanium Platinum ? Not yet recovered it’s year high of 66.8 so are you predicting it getting back there ? Be a nice rise from current 45p . | kennyp52
22/7/2020 19:40 | Fenners .. my dividend forecast is based on calculations of the free cashflow being generated at the production levels and average POG in H1 and the general consensus of opinion on where it is going in H2 . With increased production the AISC also falls . Take all this into account and CEYs stated dividend policy then DYOR and I think you will find you get something in the region . Good luck . | kennyp52
22/7/2020 19:27 | Cash distribution over and above eps cannot last forever | phillis
22/7/2020 18:39 | If as latest reports are suggesting that not only will the second stimulus package be less generous than the first one, it will not come into effect until between 1-7 August, are true, all economic hell is going to break out on Monday 3 August(when the markets open) if not on Friday 31 July. That economic storm will have several different faces and I suggest most if not all, will be ugly. | azalea
22/7/2020 12:03 | Just for reference/ context. :- | skinny
22/7/2020 12:00 | Those contributors maintaining Fresnillo's Q2 was a poor report i think must have short memories.A lot of bad news was already priced into the FRES share price from the previous dire reports resulting from operational issues, possible government interference and poor grade quality.Similar to Centamin it had to work through these issues, but appears to be coming out the other side.Any improvement on silver production nos was always going to be well received by the market. The lower gold production is more than offset by the big rise in pog.Imho | redbaron10
22/7/2020 10:54 | redbaron10 Well said. Regardless of who becomes the next U.S. president, its not going to change the serious financial predicament the U.S. economy is in, which will take years to recover from. Most if not all posters are here to make money based on the p.o.g. whether it be to invest in gold miners or physical gold. Few if any of us know everything and I will wager that all long standing investors have made mistakes along the way. My own philosophy is that its never wrong to take a profit on any investment in the stock market, yes, you might have got a better price later on, but you could also be looking at a loss In addition, never invest more than you can afford to lose. | azalea
22/7/2020 10:09 | I'm not on here to make political points at all.Who the US elect as president is up to the electorate of the US.The reality is that the US has the largest economy in the world and the dollar being the world reserve currency means that commodities and PMs are priced in dollars. It means US influence has a large bearing on pog.I'm here to invest and make money hopefully. If other people's contributions on here can help me in my cause then all well and good.I don't pretend to know everything and if I can learn from other poster's knowledge and experience then it is to my benefit.I only offer my opinion that is all.Take it or leave it. | redbaron10
22/7/2020 09:49 | The microwave oven was developed from the magnetron valve invented in Britain for aircraft radar in WWII, but it was the Americans who found the peacetime use for it, and the Americans who figured out how to make magnetrons quickly and cheaply during the war. The Brits had been using skilled machinists to carve an intricate shape out of a block of brass, but they were short on skilled machinists and the work took a lot of time. The Americans, when asked for help, realised that they could stamp out thin profiles from sheet and rivet them together to make the same shape. There are now microwave ovens in every home. This happens a lot, with Britain making the initial discovery and others, often Americans, capitalising. | rose_by_another_name |
