since the Egyptian elections, Gold is up 5.8% whilst over the same period CEY is down 27.3%

Facts that anyone can verify for themselves, very easily.

How many of the those 4% dividends do you need to collect to cover that kind of loss?

hgm's been the highest (or near the highest) it's been for several years, but its production costs are low, albeit it has debt. Its a small producer on the aim market (always be careful on aim constituents).I was holding 300k last may(2018), I have being reducing it currently holding 150k. I expect 2nd qtr figures in Aug/sept and a divi later. The price of gold moving up beyond $1350 has caused it to go above £2.00 I think.
I had it on my watch list for serveral months before buying.
Also note my buy trades are on T+20 and I have a large credit with my brokers.

Shay ... how do you see HGM at the moment ? Had a dabble earlier in year but sold for a profit in the mid 180s . I was surprised to see it go even higher but hey ho . There again the POG will add profit .

I'm not making any recommendations to buy, hold or sell any shares I have mentioned. I guess I have been lucky. CEY is what I call a 'heart attack' inducing stock, it always pays to read up on the company and its reports. I also started trading in hgm (@80p) after taking some profits from cey in 2017. Another good preformer, which I trade almost everyday and good divi payer.

Keep doing what you do Shay ... I have my average down to sub 70p by trading and only been in this thing for 12 months. I like the balance sheet of the company and with the increased resources the potential is encouraging . When it drops it just represents another opportunity to pick some more up . When it floats up and down 2% a day on shorts why wouldn’t you want to be in the action ?!? 👍

IP nice gap fill trade. The problem with buying gap fills to the downside is they very often overshot after the fill.

I don't think there'll be much happening with PMs until Fridays nonfarm payrolls are released.

I wouldn't put too much emphasis in a 'chartists' strategy in relation to this stock. I'm in the camp of long term holding and short term trading, I hold a core which has averaged at 40p and I buy and sell to bring that average down plus I have had very good divis, looking forward to end of this month when I suspect the management will anounce the half year divi.
