16/10/2017 10:14 | morning Anyone know if a company moving to a premium listing means a decent extra workload for their adviser? Cheers | cwa1
12/10/2017 08:25 | Further to post #2508, GCP Asset Backed Income Fund (GABI) have successfully raised gross proceeds of £75m through its issue of C Shares via Open Offer, Placing and Offer for Subscription. The issue was targeting gross proceeds in excess of £70m. Applications have been scaled back due to demand materially exceeding £70m. Cenkos are acting as sponsor/sole placing agent... Result of Open Offer, Placing and Offer for Subscription - | speedsgh
10/10/2017 11:02 | speedsgh - Substitute "MAY" for "essentially" and you simply repeated what I wrote. That is over analysis. Meanwhile, I e-mailed Cenkos a few months back pointing out their "Linked in" presence was way below that of other brokers - especially in terms of timely upgrades to new business and staff presence. Glad to see they have taken my advice :) | keith95
10/10/2017 10:39 | Excellent post speedsgh. A man of Anthony Hotson's undoubted integrity, wealth of experience and stature would need no script writer. His thoroughbred pedigree carries a lot of weight, brings with it an extensive address book of all the right contacts and may likely serve to open many doors for Cenkos in the corporate world which may before have been closed. All good stuff. And a particularly astute appointment by the Board of Cenkos. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
10/10/2017 10:16 | The new CEO's appointment was announced on 5/7 & became effective at the start of Aug. The ex-CEO (who resigned from the board at the start of Aug & will leave the company at the end of Dec) MAY have assisted the new CEO with some of the commentary (although I am dubious about this) but I cannot believe that the new CEO would have signed it off if he had any concerns re its content or even style. So, one has to believe that the reference to the "good" pipeline was either the words of the new CEO or the words of the ex-CEO approved by his replacement. To be honest we are probably over-analysing the statement somewhat. In essence the outlook looks +ve, and more so than at the same time last year. Full stop. AIMHO | speedsgh
10/10/2017 09:32 | 3800 - The significance of the wording "good" in terms of pipeline of new business in Cenkos's recent results depends upon whether they were essentially written by Durkin or by Hotson which is not known ... hence my willingness to take profits on the spike to 120p .... .... a re-trace to 116 seemed a good buy back opportunity for me after a little reconsideration. The question is how much of a hit Cenkos will take Ex Dividend if any at all. My hold here is at a comfortable level ... and am mindful that dealmaker Durkin can get rid of his shares that are off the RADAR at this point, by selling them to a suitor ..... ... so happy to hold a few. :) | keith95

09/10/2017 21:27 | I did write in post 2525 that the latest broker forecast which I have seen on the TD investing website for 2017 was ptp £7.84m, EPS11.20p, div 11p this has now been upgraded to ptp 8.41m,EPS 12.4p, div 11p. I would expect the broker supplying this forecast to be Smith & Williamson Corporate their own broker however if anyone subscribes to research tree I expect they could find out for sure. 3800 | 3800
09/10/2017 18:54 | Concur fully. Have taken good size here as I recently said. Last time I was gung-ho on this share was at 50p a few years ago being multi-year lows and it subsequently quintupled rapidly whereupon I took my money off the table and sold at peak 250p. I have waited patiently to see if a good reentry point would come after several years in the wilderness and a major retrenchment in share price from 250p to 80/100p. The new CEO and the recent results proved for me to be that re-entry point. Am equally expecting a strong outperformance hence-forward. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
09/10/2017 18:46 | In my experience when Cenkos say "good" they mean really good. Should be a very good year. | topvest
09/10/2017 18:36 | CWA1. - I agree. The guy's a fruit and nut case. I had a contrary view to most for a long time. For that I get repeatedly harangued. I get called non-stop a Boo-Boy. I now turn positive and I still get harangued when you'd think he would be pleased. Or was it because he sold at 100p and I bought at 100p and the rest is history.... The guy is crazy. Best filter him. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
09/10/2017 08:29 | I object to being plagiarized. For those who can't read between the lines: Cenkos interim report was a re-hash of previous Cenkos reports used by Jim Durkin as I already noted twice, the astute reader, however, will note the replacement of the word "satisfactory" for "good" in the results this time around ... which is a significant change in wording going forwards - and my bet being a deliberate change in wording to reflect future business. I'll leave it for folks to do their own research with this little pointer to find out the precise context of that change. :) | keith95
09/10/2017 08:07 | I second that | glawsiain
09/10/2017 07:56 | Come on QuePassa/keith95. Drop it and move on, let's not go through all this again please. If you don't want to talk directly about the company, don't post it. | cwa1
08/10/2017 22:08 | forget keith. he has so many major character flaws and unresolved personal issues. he is a big loser. his selling Cenkos recently was a major buy signal and since he sold it is up 20%. he doesn't understand the market or market timing. the guy is an utter fool. | quepassa
08/10/2017 21:28 | Back in at 116 from 120 ... taking prophets from NAH rise post ex divi ...... Much smaller but comfortable position .. nice to see former de-rampers copying my own research from a few weeks ago .... For original thought ... read here .... :) | keith95
07/10/2017 20:00 | How is Ranjit engineering the tie up ? Does he own part of either or both? He has not exhibited a desire to float Boparan. | fenners66

07/10/2017 12:27 | Select Property Group Finance plc have dropped plans for their proposed retail bond in which they hoped to raise up to £50m. Speculation is that the reason stated by the company for the withdrawal is a smokescreen for the real concerns surrounding the proposed fundraising which appear to have resulted in potential investors failing to warm to the proposed issue (see previous posts 2500/2509/2533/2547) Sterling Denominated 6% Bonds due 2023 - On 22 September 2017, Select Property Group Finance plc (the "Company") announced that it intended to explore the retail bond market with a proposed offering of sterling denominated 6% bonds due 2023. Speculation about interest rate volatility and market uncertainty during the offer period influenced investor sentiment and demand. The Company has, therefore, decided not to proceed with the proposed bond issue at this time. | speedsgh
06/10/2017 16:49 | According to this article in The Times today, the Eddie Stobart Logistics float is the 2nd largest IPO to date on the London market this year. So quite a feather in the cap for little old Cenkos... EDIT: The article also points to the currently healthy fundraising market saying that "London [is] on course to eclipse last year’s total for funds raised with £4.4 billion so far, well ahead of the £3.6 billion tally at the same point in 2016". Cenkos is also shown as top of the table of "Top five banks handling IPOs by proceeds, $m", currently leading Jefferies, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan & Peel Hunt. | speedsgh

03/10/2017 08:41 | Further concerns being raised by Mark Bentley of ShareSoc re the proposed Select Property Group retail bond. Might Cenkos struggle to raise demand for this offering?... | speedsgh |
