08/2/2011 13:00 | And I don't even hold !! | harrogate
08/2/2011 12:55 | This must be a record for the board, 4 separate posters in one day! | davydoo
08/2/2011 12:51 | My bet is they got the other 3m as well. But who sold at 10p? MF Global sound like a hedge fund to me ... interesting stuff | harrogate
08/2/2011 12:51 | should hopefully get an indication from whom they picked them up from soon which should give a better indication as to the position of the seller | empirestate
08/2/2011 12:43 | first new holding announcement in, MF Global with 3m shares, just over 3%, so that suggests we have more announcements to come. | davydoo
08/2/2011 09:01 | i rough guess of about 12m in last 2 days | davydoo
08/2/2011 07:33 | Hi DD I'm away skiing this week so not really monitoring things very closely. Howany shares changed hands? | gosgos
07/2/2011 22:17 | me too. I just hoped it would have been mine for 20p and not someone elses for 10p! It'd be hard for AVAP to justify refusing to pick them up at this price, if their priority is enhancing shareholder value. | davydoo
07/2/2011 21:27 | How about it being AVAP... I would if I were them | harrogate
07/2/2011 19:23 | good to see another lot shifted today, this one shud get interesting soon | empirestate
06/2/2011 22:26 | davy, above appreciated. that free float is tiny. at least there is a taker at around 10p so it looks pretty close to a bottom at the mo. will keep an eye on the trading pattern to try to identify an entry point on movement.will gen myseld up on AVAP. cheers | empirestate
06/2/2011 10:38 | empirestate, if you havent done so its worth understanding AVAP to find your opinion on CLA. These are the major CLA holders (from their website) Avation Plc 50,100,000 51.18% Vidacos Nominees Limited 21,065,334 21.52% Lynchwood Nominees Limited 9,391,667 9.59% Kas Nominees Limited 7,736,112 7.90% Roy Nominees Limited 3,125,000 3.19% Avation wont sell, they'd lose control, but could be a potential buyer to boost their own eps All the other holders are nominees, buy im not sure who is behind each one. Although I think someone said on the board previously that Vidacos is Standard Life. It leaves a very small free float after these holders of 6.62% or 6.48m shares. I hold 270,000 | davydoo
06/2/2011 07:39 | i was talking abouy AVAP not these sorry for the confusion. I don't understand the issues with the CLA share price | harrogate
06/2/2011 00:30 | harrogate, doubt there will be a rights at such a low level on the share price davy, who are the biggest holders in this one?. with 7.7 million through on the ticker and none of the mm's firming the bid, i would say there is more weight on the share price going forward. have stuck this on the radar as fundamentally it looks decent value from here. will look to try and catch the share price after filling of the sellers orders. hopefully see an rns to identify who and how much we have to go. | empirestate
05/2/2011 16:49 | A quick look at the AVAP results and it looks like CLA profit was up 24%, but I will wait for confirmation when they release their own results. Also looks like the 49% of CLA that AVAP dont own is valued at about £13m, so with CLA mkt cap at £13m, CLA is currently valued at 50% of its net assets, and completely ignores the profit being generated from those assets. I would expect a better performance for the second half aswell, as the mezzanine financed was still being paid in H1 but wont be in H2. Wow, as i was writing this I just went to confirm some figures and saw the sales on Friday (see what you mean now about overhang HugePants) theres only 3 holders who have the holdings to sell that much, and thats the original investors at 24p, quite a loss when you consider this was up at 80p after floatation. I really wish there was a more efficient dealing/broking system for these situations, especially for existing shareholders, who all share an interest in the company, and its share price. I'd have been willing to pick up a lot at 11p, if i could just have been given the opportunity. I'll wait to see what mark up is being sought on Monday morning, or we might get an announcement of a new major holder. Another share i hold is GNG, looks like theyve had a major overhang clear on Friday as well so i'll be interested to see how both perfrom next week. | davydoo
03/2/2011 12:59 | overhang cleared? | hugepants
01/2/2011 09:52 | I think we are in for a big rights issue here.. and soon !! | harrogate
01/2/2011 09:37 | 'Avation PLC, the commercial aircraft leasing company, has appointed Merrill Lynch International (Australia) Ltd to provide Avation PLC with capital structuring services in relation to the recent announcement by Avation PLC regarding the strategic alliance between Skywest Airlines Ltd and Virgin Blue Holdings announced on 10 January 2011' Lets hope at the initial meeting they say to Jeff.... whats this CLA thing? well lets do a little house keeping, issue some equity and buy that out first. | davydoo
25/1/2011 14:57 | Hi DD 12.88 is good I have been watching to see if the Offer would dip but I guess I should be checking real quotes. I would happily buy more at 12.88 so I should see about freeing up some cash. Callumross: my belief would be that at present the best use of CLA cash flow from an AVAP perspective has been to pay down the debt (such as wiping out that expensive mezzanine layer). At some point that argument will change however my money is still on buying back equity rather than dividends since buying back equity would increase AVAP's % holding and be tax efficient | gosgos
25/1/2011 14:02 | Been looking at these for while but the absence of a dividend puts me off buying. Any reason why they don't pay one? | callumross
25/1/2011 13:16 | I picked up some more yesterday at 12.88p I think you're spot on about the continuing rise in the AVAP price only makes it more compelling to use their stock to buy out CLA, although however good that might seem they may need every penny to leverage the debt needed for the SKYW/Virgin deal. Could be a long wait. I think you still have the record for the lowest price ever paid. | davydoo
15/1/2011 07:25 | Thanks for your good wishes and glad you are doing well too. My star performer is ATC but I cannot take too much credit for selecting it as I bought a convertible loan note and so was primarily making a fixed rate investment with some additional potential upside. If AVAP goes up more it must make sense to swap AVAP equity for CLA just for the cross securitisation potential - or so I tell myself ;-) | gosgos
14/1/2011 21:20 | Glad youre having a good start, i saw atuk is doing well. Im also really pleased with performance so far, just hoping CLA can join the party | davydoo
14/1/2011 19:40 | Hmm - obviously not keen on those. However, still cannot see how these are not worth over 20p (eventually). I am currently having a cracking start to the year on the market so will continue to trust my judgement. It could be someone reacting to Avation and taking the view that they had backed the wrong horse. Hope you are also prospering outside CLA. Best | gosgos |
