This is now a shell for Petrosaudi, imo, who are the prime movers in the background. Rigs accessed and ready to go. Much further forward than given credit for. Once rainy season finishes, which shortly, if not already finished, they can move into area without getting bogged down. New area(s) in sights in Nth west adjacent to Boqueron etc, current licences belonging to Amerisur, who may do JV or sell up completely. See Amer RNS 30/12.
Paraguay is virgin territory. The country wants the O&G and will make every effort to assist exploration and production. They are building a cracking plant in anticipation. Optimism or what?

currently this company is digging for oil or gas with a fork and a spade, and hope to strike a find sometime early next year, should they do so they will purchase a black and decker drill to further momentum

Las citadas empresas solicitaron una concesión para realizar exploraciones dentro de un territorio chaqueño de un millón de hectáreas.

Proyectan excavar, como mínimo, 20 pozos en el 2009, según Buttner
Unos 20 pozos, como mínimo, se pretende que en el 2009 sean perforados en las diferentes áreas concesionadas de nuestro país, según anunció ayer el titular de Minas y Energía, Ing. Carlos Buttner. La Subsecretaría se encuentra abocada actualmente a la revisión del decreto que regula las actividades exploratorias.

Los nuevos pozos estarán instalados en los bloques Boquerón y Pirity, este último ubicado en las cercanías de Palmar Largo, donde fue ubicado un nuevo yacimiento, en el lado argentino.

Buttner había informado que los nuevos ejes de la actividades exploratorias, están centrados en tres grupos empresariales que, además de Petro Saudí y CDS, conforman Paraguay Gas & Energy SA y el último grupo que queda por definir, que está integrado por la Crescent Global Oil Paraguay SA y Bohemia.

La autoridad ministerial precisó que unos US$ 20.000.000 es la inversión que se proyecta realizar inicialmente en las nuevas exploraciones petrolíferas. Buttner incluso se mostró optimista con que en el 2010 nuestro país pueda estar explotando comercialmente sus reservas de petróleo.

El titular de Minas añadió que para fines de marzo o principios de abril del año entrante aguardan la llegada del lote de máquinas que se ocuparán de los nuevos trabajos de excavación.

"Al margen continuarán las tareas exploratorias y, por otra parte, estamos encaminando acciones para realizar algunas modificaciones del decreto reglamentario respectivo ya que ciertas exigencias provocaron reacciones de las concesionarias e incluso llevaron a las mismas a iniciar acciones judiciales que ahora pretendemos erradicar", dijo el subsecretario de Estado.

Se refería a las exigencias de provisión de vehículos y equipos, supuestamente para el acompañamiento de los trabajos, las inspecciones de rigor, pero que según denuncias anteriores eran empleados en otros menesteres e incluso para uso particular de las anteriores autoridades de la cartera.

Buttner destacó en otro momento la incorporación de nuevas firmas entre las interesadas en llevar adelante los trabajos exploratorios en Paraguay, en sus dos regiones.

"Es el resultado de la nueva imagen de nuestro país", sentenció.

Sobre la entrevista que vienen manteniendo con el ex embajador estadounidense James Cason, el viceministro de Minas señaló que el mismo está representando a la empresa Quincy Oil & Gas Corporation, que también emprenderá sus actividades en el Chaco.

Cabe recordar que la CDS –ahora asociada a la empresa petrolera saudí–, juntamente con la empresa Primo Cano Martínez, cuenta con un área concesionada de 40.000 hectáreas en Gabino Mendoza, otorgada por la Ley 1028/ 83.

Maybe PetroSaudi's promised extra $18m investment has hit the coffers?
Maybe the rigs have been booked? They are due to give us a fixed date rather than early Q2 for spudding new wells.
CDS are the leading E&P co in Paraguay and they mean business. They'll do it a hell of a lot quicker than Amerisur will. imo.

There were some small buys yesterday which may indicate someone has an inkling.

CDS, the AIM quoted oil and gas explorer (CDS.L), was informed on 2 October 2008 that PetroSaudi Ltd Inc ('PetroSaudi') has acquired the entire share capital of each of Feltown Assets Inc. ('Feltown') and Werton Finance S.A. ('Werton') from private investors, Jean-Gabriel Antoni and Christo Christidis respectively. Feltown has an interest in 32,857,142 ordinary shares of 10p each of CDS ('Ordinary Shares') and Werton an interest in 19,285,714 Ordinary Shares.




On 2 October 2008 the Company was also advised by PetroSaudi that it has acquired a further 3,450,000 Ordinary Shares though the market. The Company understands that the 3,450,000 Ordinary Shares were previously held by RAB Special Situations (Master) Fund Limited. Following these acquisitions, PetroSaudi has a beneficial interest in 63,889,386 Ordinary Shares representing 62.8% of the Company's issued share capital.




As the central management and control of CDS is outside of the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, the provisions of the UK Takeover Code do not apply to the Company.




Whilst the Company has not received formal notification of any changes to RAB Special Situations (Master) Fund Limited's holding in CDS, the Company believes that RAB Special Situations (Master) Fund Limited no longer has a notifiable interest in the Company.

Regardless of where they try to raise the money they're out of cash and need it now and there won't be any drilling without it or even any company for that matter.
