All the signs are positive and yet another aquisition, think it just being held back by the market - IMHO...

Good results, director buying, another North West aquisition today followed by somebody paying over the odds to get 4k.

All together a right load of bad news:-)

Good luck

BNH has gone, bought, and we move on, the fish in the pool get less and CBG just got biggger and with great results delivered, this is a bargain, at this price the sharks will be circling, time to top up. United are top of the premier and this manchester company is top of the league in performance.

Purely on the amount of growth, last year I was projecting these to hit £2 early 2008. Think they have only been stopped by the rocky market conditions but they have held up well compared to some of the blue chips..IMHO DYOR..etc..

Good to see a few BNH followers again. CBG are a minnow by comparison but impressive results all the same - keep following.

CBG do it again! Very impressive results with a team like this and a little more growth they may start to look at reversing into someone larger, unless they get bought out first. IMHO DYO etc...

Bartclay Brown bought at end of january, nice to start to the year with an acquisition, sort of sets the stall out for 2008. you just cant have enough insurance in your portfolio.

Just back from the alps, any views on latest aquisition and share volumes? looks to me as if its business as usual for CBG. Should get a nice bounce when markets recover....IMHO DYOR

BNH ( broker network) was bought by private company at a good price, same sector as CBG

I really cleaned up on BNH, got in very early, got a bit worried when they borrowed all that money for Towry, swam the chanel with towergate buying it and picking up the debt as well !!! wonder if they realised they bought a company twice

Best of luck geovest, it is your money, I am staying in and adding, hope you made a nice profit. "you just cant have enough insurance in your portfolio" and CBG are a top performing company in the sector. IMHO

I wouldn't expect many PNC holders to take CG. shares. Taking the cash alternative allows them to realise a CGT loss which is potentially far more valuable.

gogoalex, you may be right but there are a few things which concern me a nd therefore my reason for selling.
- Kingsbridge advisors business was sold in 2003 and the company probably doesn't have the right to use client records (they are outdated by now anyway)
- Yes they pay around £186k for £260k in cash (70 per £1 as you said), but they also accept all the contingent liabilities of a failed company and must spend some of thet cash winding up the company.
- The directors are using CBG to bail them out of a dreadful personal financial loss - not good.
- I am still concerned about them overpaying for Marcus Hearn.
- Also see the earlier post 180 by manfrompru where he raised some issues regarding FSA actions.

There are just too few "issues" for my liking. I may be totally wrong, but when I don't feel comfortable, I move on. Many other lovely companies out there without "issues" at much cheaper valuations.
Good luck.
