Thanks for that LPLP, I was wondering if I should sell as we are so close to the £1 mark, but clearly there could be another 50p to be had here...

theheadchef thanks. CMX has been undervalued for a while and management have done the right thing. Doesn't take a genius to work out how to maximise value with many of these companies but we are are at the mercy of management and they dont always give two hoots. Good find LPLP.

Interesting very close to net assets now. I would imagine that there would be a premium for anyone that wishes to get hold of a big stake in SIS, which means that there is some way to go yet if you treat CMX as a p[roxy for SIS.

Looks as if we are moving towards the endgame. Shame in someways, but the decent thing to do, given what seems a lack of ideas on how to take the company forward.

I've been waiting so long for these to come right, seems a shame to let the SIS stake go too cheap. If it does happen I would prefer a sale of CMX rather than cash into CMX or we will probably be shafted in realising the value.

Mmm I wonder what we'll go for £1+ as the article suggests ? I wonder if this a good time to sell though.

From The Sunday Times January 31, 2010 Racing TV group jumps at the chance of a sale ONE of the backers behind the company that pipes TV footage from racecourses into the nation's bookmakers will this week put itself up for sale. The prime asset of AIM-listed Catalyst Media is a 21% stake in Satellite Information Services, whose cameras capture hundreds of horseraces every year. It has also expanded to cover news and sport for ITV and BSkyB, including rugby and motor racing after acquiring the BBC's fleet of outside broadcast trucks in 2008. That deal diluted pre-tax profits at SIS last year. They fell 18% to £21.3m on sales 21% higher at £193m. Other than Catalyst, SIS is owned by bookies including Ladbrokes, William Hill and The Tote, several racecourses, as well as blue-blooded fund Caledonia Investments.

The results sound promising to me in the medium term the share price should do well, BBC deal could offer extra upside.

The company is very different now, with Paul Duffin now at Hull, and the only remaining ones being SIS people.

They seemed to sniff out duff things to invest in in the past that was their one talent ... aside from SIS

They've blown a bit on 'TRINGO' (I think), whats to say they're going to just distribute the divi and not spend it on dodgy stuff.

theheadchef - the end looks like a bit fat cash cow with no debt, relatively few staff, reasonable overheads and regular big fat dividend payments to long suffering shareholders. No rubbish investments in rubbish websites, no rubbish deals to borrow money at rubbish rates. A clean, lean, dividend machine. IMHO it shouldn't require a hoard of fat cats to manage the process of receiving a dividend cheque from SIS, paying it into the bank and then divvying up the majority of it to shareholders. At some point hopefully someone will make a massive offer for SIS, which will cause a massive jump in the CMX share price and we can all move on.
