1 year and 1 week after Clive's epic statement, we're sitting on something pretty special, we're still none the wiser.

How time flies !

toggle, that's not dreaming...that sounds very plausible. $1 = 71p.

without trying too hard i made it 64p, see post 4010.

imo that was conservative if casp manage to bring in 1 deep, because that will put all bng deeps 'in play' and hype will take over.

$2bn could be conservative if p2 = 200mmboe. and that is not difficult to see, say 50mmboe from shallows after another year of drilling and 150mmboe from a deep, also in about a year from now, maybe sooner.

together with that there will be at least 7000bopd production, probably a bit more. that is about $112m p.a. at 80% to export. that would be worth at least $800m in a sale.

and what will 3abest bring to the party by 2020? there must be a reason the kaz owners want access to casp cash to develop 3abest?

comparison with iec is interesting but valuations inside russia suffer the geopolitical risk, more than in kaz, so i would expect higher prices for kaz assets.

i have no plans for a trip to fantasy land but fantasy land may come to casp if they succeed with more than 1 deep.

do you think my numbers are silly, toggle?

Konil we are dreaming …

An example which cross my mind is IEC … Imperial Energy Company, Western Siberia. The business was founded in 2004. In 2007 it was first listed on the London Stock Exchange. The company was acquired by ONGC for $2.1 billion in January 2009..

Dodgy numbers but for scale, Where, What, How Much, and When

Geography is vaguely similar: CASP Revenue on WHI data gets to $59m in 2019,(IEC Income 2007 c$42.5m); and possible reserves sort of same scale; then timing IEC took 5 years to catch a deal and maybe in 2019 CASP will catch one too after 7 years from 2012.

Gossip but word is ONGC made a mess of IEC afterwards and Peter Levine, CEO of IEC, is on his fourth young Russian bride and trying to find oil in Argentina with PPC.
'
One EXIT theory is a CASP Sale to a National Oil company possible at a decent price.
'
A possible sale for $2 billion and with roughly 2 billion CASP shares gives $1 each. This would pay for my trip to Fantasy Land, Disney World, Florida in 2019/2020

toggle, imo your posts are aimed at the long game here.

assuming a deep comes in, then my inclination is this could be one to stick with. there can't be many (any?) early stage oilers that are debt free on the verge of big commercial production.

it could be a stomach churning ride and take a year or two or three to mature, but it could develop into a very big opportunity. (it may get taken out meantime of course.)

what are your thoughts regarding your exit strategy and possible target prices?

FWIW
.
2012 RXP had a market Capital of £16m and under 400 million shares. Then KO became CEO and through investment by Kazak directors plus loans by various colleagues, which were exchange for shares, the company was by this 2017 in a position to merger with Baverstock. Prior to the merger there were 934 million shares and after 1,670 million. The new shares were valued at 9.5p.

That 9.5p share price has been the base line even during the autumn 2017 when Kazak residents were apparently trading for Tax reasons. It would appear that only 1 in 4 of shares are traded on the London market and so London shares are a minority concern to the Board.

New company is worth a 10 bagger for Market Capital based on 2012 value. But investment has not been raised on London Market.

Key investors are the so called “concert party and Kazak friends”. They have to be impressed to complete the possible 3ABest deal announced on 31st January 2018. Many Kazak investors are in both companies. The indicated purchase price is $24 million would be satisfied by the issue of approximately 148 million new Caspian Shares at the proposed price of 12p per share.

IMHO it is possible some share price management is, as was with Baverstock deal, being exercised along with News management to complete the 3ABest deal. All controlled by the Almaty office. London market does not have to be impressed at the moment but soon its time will come. JUST AN OPINION

Are we all suffering from mass delusion? It's now 4 months since the company presentation where they outlined it's incredibly upbeat drilling and update program was announced and seemingly nothing has been achieved or announced? If they walk away from A5 where does that leave us. Are we kidding ourselves that any thing will happen?

Yes, end tax year is probably causing volume to hop upwards. But it looks very much as though there's net buying going on, hence the uptick in the ask.

I wonder if we're going to embark on another little run on no news.

Been buying houses for kids and looking at getting town flat so I'm a seller on any strength - of this and most other shares I hold. I don't hold with these new-fangled mortgage things.

Buzzzz....lolKonil, Wdyk ? What does Clive Carver know !The matched trading is ongoing and I'm surprised to see it holding up and the longer it stays at this level the more likely it will trade north as peeps buy tickets pre next news. Personally I think it will have a little shaky to belie 9p and will be interesting to see if there's any bottom feeding. BednIsa activity should see some matched trading going through this week.

its probably a reference to the overall quality of the bng acreage, deeps and shallows.

the cpr report will be done piecemeal probably - an upgrade on the shallows and numbers for each deep structure as flow tests are completed. bwdik!

At least my other 2 investments are progressing. SXX broken through 30p and hopefully will trend steadily northwards as operations continue without incident. HUR don't need anymore boulder relocation work on seabed so less cost and unnecessary time delay. Not without risk but I was considering reinvesting some of the Casper profits sometime this year, dependent on news. C'mon Clive, April's good for showers, hopefully showers of positive news.

I believe the directors in Kazakhstan maybe be busy 12 months a year.

Clive, I am sure looks after his health and uses those 4 free months to recuperate on a beach somewhere with a straw hat, a bottle of factor 50 sun cream and a small wine glass.

So, practically they have 8 months a year to operate effectively, surely an opportunity to reduce Opex by 25% and for directors to have a 4 month salary holiday (-:, some chance !It would be good to see some large Director purchases.

Apparently it’s cold in Kazakhstan at the minute. They are having to blow up ice in rivers to allow ships to move, according to the bbc!

So add a couple of more weeks to the timescales.
